We thoroughly enjoyed camping & hiking at Pinnacles National Park. Hiking the loop from Bear Gulch to/through the Cave Trail to the Reservoir, up the High Peaks Trail over, then down the Condor Gulch Trail back to Bear Gulch was amongst the most interesting, invigorating, and fun day hikes that we have ever done. We detected a rich assemblage of native wildlife during our stay including a flock of 6 California Condors, numerous Mule Deer, a Bobcat, a number of other bird species, and various mammal tracks.

The tent cabin was great. One double bed and two twins. Very comfortable. There are solar lights built in so dont be afraid of the no electricity. Highly recommend staying here

Perfect trip! Parked Truckcamper in the campground and could walk to all the trails. Hiked way up to see condors close up! Magnificant. National Park store has great park souveniers and friendly helpful staff.

Campsite is right next to the main road. Staff was not helpful. By far the worst park Ive ever been to.

On they way in the sign says all campers must check in. There's no parking for RVs anywhere close. We parked in front of the no parking signs because we couldn't find a place where we would fit and not get stuck. In front of the store it says you don't need to check in if you know your spot number. Well, make up your mind!Most sites are spacious and relatively private. Site 12 had plenty of room for our 25' trailer and our truck. The site was lumpy and unlevel, critters have been digging a lot, it could use some maintenance. None of this stopped us from having a great weekend.

Location and campsite was good, but access to the bathroom was difficult during the visit. The closest to our campsite was down all weekend, the second closest has no light on the women side, so every trip needed a short drive to the main showers near the camp store. It was clean enough, but FAR.

The campground infrastructure is not great. One bathroom completely out, the other very smelly Port-a-potties - we have to walk for 15 min to get to a working bathroom. Lots of crumbling buildings around the main store also.
@KirstenTC6D389 · Camped on Nov 27, 2025 at Campsite #87
Plenty of space at the campsite, pretty flat which made it easy for leveling the trailer. Hot showers by the camp store were available at all times. No cell service.

The camp sites were wonderful. There was a problem with the bathroom closest to us.

Beautiful park, great campground

Get an early start. The trailhead parking lots were full so we got to add 2+ miles from the campground to the trailheads. EACH WAY.

Nice campsite and good facilities

Had fun at our campfire Thanksgiving... Start the hikes early to avoid the crowd.

Thanksgiving is busy here. Be prepared for cold nights! Many are tent camping. Firewood is a must. The campsite Loop D was mainly at the low valley flat surface. Good night views for stargazing. The bathroom was out of order though, for at least one night.

Was a bit chilly tues right before thanksgiving. About mid 20s during sleeping time. When suns out about low 60s. Dont depend on heater in cabin. Plenty of wildlife. Great trails straight from campground. Bike racks at most stops. Definitely comin back!

The facilities are well-maintained, the park is not over-crowded, and its beautiful! Also a fantastic camping experience with knowledgeable rangers around to help plan hikes.

This is a beautiful campground, but the bathrooms are way too far from the sites. And our 2nd day, the bathroom closest to us had to be closed due to a plumbing issue. I think more port a potties scattered throughout would be a good idea. ALSO sites 53, 54, and 55 are too close together. When we arrived at site 54, the tents from the sit 53 was within 5 feet of our table and they had two big tents. I think 53 and 54 should be one site, or reserved as a double site. Otherwise staff was great and the store was awesome.

It was a very clean and hospitable campground with respectful workers and campers. Pinnacles is a fantastic place for new National Park explorers or for anyone who wants an easy to weekend away with their family. The service desk was exceptional in helping myself and others map out their hikes to make the most of their stay. I truly enjoyed my stay and recommend others to seek out the unique land features that Pinnacles National Park has to offer.

A wonderful park with fantastic trails, clean facilities and a campsite with the most wildlife inside it that I've experienced at a Nat'l Park. We had deer, turkeys, squirrels and raccoons all active and roaming through the campgrounds. Definitely heed the warnings of keeping food or scented items out of your tent and lock up your food / trash bags when unattended as the raccoons will sneak in through the brush and liberate you of any food items when you're not looking. We did not find them to be a bother at all and thought it added to the experience. This park is a hidden gem and we will be back again soon to explore some more.

Pinnacles is a great national park for hiking! November was a perfect time to visit with sunny and cool weather. We were fortunate on the Friday before Thanksgiving week to park at the Bear Gulch Cave lot, leaving the campground about 9 am that day. On Saturday, we left at 8 am and parked at the Old Pinnacles lot. The campground is on the expensive side for the basic amenities it offers (including port-a-potties in our section of the campground). There are two different roads leading to campsites - one that is primarily for RVs with larger open spaces and the other that is primarily for tents with tighter spaces and more privacy. We stayed on the "tent" side with a 27 foot travel trailer. Site 62 was listed as being for a max 29 foot trailer, though the limited turning space with sharp foliage lining the road and the driveway made it very tight. We were able to get in position, though we had to turn around and go down the loop the wrong way to back in to the driveway, which is situated at a right angle to the road. We managed to park our tow vehicle parallel to the road in the site, just barely. I wouldn't recommend site 62 for a trailer, or at least not a very large one just to make things smoother. On the positive side, site 62 is an interesting L shaped site with a large tent/picnic table area off to the side of the driveway and many trees, offering a good deal of privacy (not necessarily in terms of noise).There is no clearly demarcated check-in parking for RVs and the space near the entrance to the campground is tight. There is also no fresh water fill near the entrance. We were advised to pull up near a spigot in the RV site area before heading to our campsite. This worked, but required turning around after filling up. There is water available in the "tent" section, though most of the spigots are not threaded and you would need to block the road to use them. All in all, we enjoyed the stay and would do so again, just in another campsite.

We had a very nice 109 spot in the RV area on the end. However, the 30 amp power pedestal kept tripping even if we just plugged in a little phone. (We plugged in back home with our 110 V adapter and it was fine and has worked fine in previous months with 30 amp power in RV parks). The 20 amp power worked fine, but since we paid for the spot with the power that was a big drag, but we just ended up being upgraded and it was OK. The park itself was super cool. The bathrooms are quite a ways from the RV area, but the store is really well equipped with fair prices and the staff are very nice.

Park was clean, quiet & well staffed. Wildlife in the campground was fun... wild turkeys, quail, deer and lots of turkey vultures. We spotted 3 condors while hiking!! We'll definitely be back!

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
