My RV site was in full sun, no trees nearby. It was midway between two bathrooms, but neither one was very close. On the plus side, it was very easy to drive in and out, site was quiet and free hot showers were great!

We thoroughly enjoyed camping & hiking at Pinnacles National Park. Hiking the loop from Bear Gulch to/through the Cave Trail to the Reservoir, up the High Peaks Trail over, then down the Condor Gulch Trail back to Bear Gulch was amongst the most interesting, invigorating, and fun day hikes that we have ever done. We detected a rich assemblage of native wildlife during our stay including a flock of 6 California Condors, numerous Mule Deer, a Bobcat, a number of other bird species, and various mammal tracks.

Don't stay at space 96. There is no shade. When we went, on May 16th, the women's bathroom was crowded, filthy, and out of soap and paper towels. This is more like a state park than a national park. The trails were very nice, though.

So sorry that there wasn't any staffing to provide ranger-led activities. At some point, would love that a bathroom with showers was closer to the campground with hook-ups. The ones that are used by the day-use are usually pretty trashed and the other two are a fair distance away.

Beautiful campground and hiking trails. Arrive in early spring. Creeks were flowing. Hill were lush and green.

Weve camped at Pinnacles many times over the years. This was the first time weve ever come across Rangers that were intimidating, inconsiderate and seemingly unapproachable. The head ranger (I found out later) would drive around very slowly in an unmarked, white SUV. Not exactly sure why he needed to have a side arm, 2 magazines, a taser on his person and an M-16 in the cab, but pretty intimidating seeing that when you pull up to a campsite. Makes one wonder where you just arrived. They were routinely going through the campground and picking apart campers for minor of infractions. Such as vehicles being just a little bit over the camp site lines (the lines were chalk and had mostly been washed away with the rains) and also having a tire on the so-called grass which is simply seasonal weeds. We had gotten caught in a windstorm, and it blew over our easy up, I ran out to catch it and my dog followed me from our trailer. A Ranger happened to be driving by and rather than help me contain my easy up he reprimanded me for having the dog off a leash. Actually told me to let go of the easy up so I could leash my doggo!! Pretty disappointed in their behavior. Ive been camping for over 40 years and this is the first time Ive had any difficulty with unfriendly rangers. We love the Pinnacles but these rangers need some retraining or new leadership. Maybe a hug?

My husband and I experienced the Pinnacles 6 years ago. This trip was as exciting, but the sites were very small and not expected. Ours was supposed to be a pull through, was not and that was a disappointment. The amenities were the same and a truly outdoor fun time, nice people and I must point out that the store prices were extremely high. Need some more post cards!

Came down to see the condors and were not disappointed. We arrived and found that between 12 and 14 condors were in the roost tree at the top of the south ridge. Seems like the have expanded to a new roost tree to the east. There we two or three juveniles with dark heads. We saw the the next night as well. The following night they flew over and went to the high peaks. They did not return to the roost tree during the remainder or our 7 day stay. If you have never seen a condor the best way is to look at the wings as they pass through the sun. Turkey vultures will reflect white at the back of their wings and condors will reflect light at the front. We will be back.

Good: quiet, clean, located in an amazing park with stargazing, talus caves, and beautiful hiking.Bad: 40-vehicle backup trying to enter the park at check-in time. Rangers were trying their best, allowed campers to pass ahead of noncampers after a 45-minute wait. Bad: dump station is locked, available by key only 9:30a-5:30p.

It's great having the electric hookups in D loop! There are more water spigots than I remember from our last trip there in 2020. Sites are cleaner than they were with more gravel and new markings. Restrooms are clean and well stocked. The store was well stocked and staff very friendly. The bookstore was awesome with a very helpful and knowledgeable staff, especially the Tuesday, Wednesday woman. Very cold at night, bring your extra blankets! I love the Pinnacles, though, and the hikes are great!

The re-entry process/entry to get back into the park on the weekends is terrible. On the weekends once you are in you cannot go out as you will never get back in. Additionally, I have been in 49 Natl parks and Pinnacles is the only one that does not issue a receipt that you can put in your window to show you are paid upon re-entry. The secondary lane/passing lane on the right is useless unless the ranger in the entry shack can see you are already paid for entry. You need to add an additional lane for people who are camping and paid for entry can re-enter the park on the weekends. Very, very poor design.

The sites were clean and well kept. The check in store were great
Pinnacles is beautiful and worth the trip. Keep in mind the parking lot for day visitors fills early if you want to start your hike there.

Sites and bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Staff is helpful and personable . Abundant signs and information plaques guide and direct in an intelligent fashion.
This National monument is famous for outstanding rock formations and condors. The rock formations make this place magical and can be counted on to impress coming in from either west or east entrances. The Condors are a rare pleasure to see; best odds are mornings just after sunrise in an area on the east side Ranger station called Condor gulch trailhead.
Getting from one park entrance to the other is a minimum 90minute drive...or a three hour hike.

Very quiet campground, decent bathrooms. Large spaces with no crowding. Best access to the Pinnacles NP. The two pay showers had very little warm water and very weak water pressure. The dump station was also out of service, which caused us an additional cost as we had to pay to dump our tanks on our way home. At least we were prepared for that as we received an email about the dump station OOS prior to our arrival.

There are good camp sites and not so good camp sites at Pinnacles. Our, Site #96 was not so good. No shade, More like a group site that had been divided into separate sites. Things are unfortunately, mis-marked after they shifted sites around. Slightly confusing. Our site was WAY far away from the bathroom and showers. In the bathroom with the shower, the floor of the toilet stall, which was right next to the shower stall, was always wet. There was much room for improvement. Trails were nice, and saw Condors.
