What a delightful trip! Pinnacles has some great hiking trails and a clean, quiet campground. Keep in mind that there are no generators allowed anywhere in the campground, so we chose an electric site. Free wi-fi available at the store and some nearby campsites.We recommend the Condor Gulch to High Peaks Trail loop (in that direction) and the Old Pinnacles trail out to the Balconies Cave loop and back. We liked the Balconies cave the best of the two. Well worth the trip!

More bathrooms are definitely needed along with showers for those camping

The park was very clean and well maintained. There were campfire programs on Friday and Saturday night that were very nice, one of them led into a star watch party, which was very fun and nicely done.

The showers/bathrooms at the campground could use improvement. They are dark, damp, and the water from the shower was odorous. However, we loved the variety of wildlife we saw!

Wonderful hikes, easy and challenging. We really loved visiting and will return for sure.

Pinnacles was fantastic! We stayed at the campground for three nights, giving us two full days of exploring. I highly recommend Bear Gulch trail it is beautiful. I saw 5 California Condors at the upper part of Condor Gulch. Such a thrill when one cocked low overhead!

We appreciated the ease of reserving a site. Very quiet campground. Hiking trails were good and generally well marked. Wish the shuttle were running to get us to the trails though.

I explained to both the host and the person on the recreation phone line that we experienced Lois construction noise starting 7:30 am our first day of camping. We had to leave as we could no longer stand the beeping bulldozer noise. For my 2 nite stay I only got 1 nite of refund? How is it that I am refunded only 1 nite when the whole first morning after my first night was disrupted, my whole second night lost as well as the second morning? I had to do a lot of packing and unpacking for this

Beautiful environment, but the actual campground needs vast improvement. The main bathroom (the only showers) was closed due to septic system replacement. The pump station was closed prior to our departure, so we weren’t able to use it. The port-a-potties that were a sorry replacement for the bathroom were in atrocious condition.
If we had known about septic work we would have scheduled our trip for another time. I feel we should have been notified before our 6 hour drive to the park, so that we could have at least been prepared for closed showers, dirty port-a-potties and noisy, dusty heavy equipment near our campsite. (By the way, portable toilets can be fine if properly maintained).
All said however, the Pinnacles themselves are an amazing feature. We saw condors and dozens of species of blooming wildflowers too. But it’s a shame the campground facilities were so inadequate. I’m hoping the current work being done is a sign that the park service will be giving Pinnacles National Parks the deferred attention it deserves.

Unique, interesting National Park!

Both days we were there it was raining, but even with that the campground was in good condition and there were plenty of hikes (that did not go down in to a valley). We competed condor gulch to high peaks trail. Overall we were all very impressed with the maintenance of this national park.

This is a quiet peaceful National Park that was not over run with people (we were there in the middle of the week in early December). The huge number of wildlife was amazing, a flock of about 30 wild turkeys wandered the campground all the time as did about 6 to 7 deer. There were literally hundreds of sparrows, quail, woodpeckers, vultures, and other birds around almost all the time. There was a well stocked camp store at the campground and lots of trails for hiking.

Pinnacles is a wonderful park. Recreation.gov on the other hand is horrible. We intended to stay 2 nights, but our reservation was truncated to one night. At 830 PM on night 2, we were rousted from our evening prepatations by the next camper. We ended boondocking behind the store. Recreation.gov never fails to disappoint.

Bear Gulch “cave” was interesting.

Overall, we were satisfied and plan to return in the future. We were self-contained, so didn't use their facilities except for the dump station, which was ok. Our only minor disappointment was with the WiFi connection which was very slow and intermittent even though they charge for it.
@DanG202 · Camped on Oct 17, 2021 at Campsite #109
Staff during check in were very helpful. Site was clean. Facility has a lot including dump station at no additional cost.
Best part was proximity to the trains and caves. We were in the RV sites. I would recommend one on the perimeter as the ones in the interior are crowded and just dirt.

We had a great time hiking the trails and just hanging out in the campground. There was lots of wildlife in the campground and we had perfect night skies for star gazing. Just make sure you don’t leave anything edible outside in the evening or overnight because the raccoons will get it.
@GregoryT815 · Camped on Jul 2, 2021 at Campsite #109
Only power hook up but free dump station and water is available in park to fill water tank. Great park for hiking and birding. Yo can see condors at the campground some times as they fly over to their roosting trees. Deer and other wild life abounds in the park. Swimming pool is filled with kids during summer break.

Dump site was full. When I asked the concessionaire worker, he said the pump out company was coming by Tuesday. When they came, they pumped out bathrooms but not dump station. He said he would not pay them to come and pump out the dump station.
What are campers to do since there are no sewer hook-ups in this park and nowhere to dump nearby? This is outrageous!!!
He was also not nice, abrupt, talked to fast and tried to get people moved along even if his directions were unclear. In addition, he gave us the wrong directions to our campsite. They have no map of the campground; also poor customer service.
There are no maps of hiking trails which contributes to confusion.

Love this campground, just wish they would reserve the electric sites for RV’s since generators aren’t allowed. There is less traffic on the road up to Bear Gulch Visitors center on the weekdays, which makes for a nice bike ride.

We decided to camp in new years and we were very disapointed. In the first day we arrived the ranger scold us 3 times in a very rude manner. I scincerialy don’t recommend the place to latino people. We lost motivation to explore the beautiful landscape.
@DavidH623 · Camped on Nov 1, 2020 at Campsite #109
The restroom/shower closet to the RV sites is just terrible. It's a 50 year old facility in bad need of repair. The toilet stall dividers are almost rusted through and the floors are always wet and muddy, due to the poor shower design.
