Very clean campground. Good layout, quiet and amazing night sky. We will return!

The leaders of the large group of school kids told stories in the evening instead of encouraging the students to run wild. They learned to listen to the night time sounds. A welcome change from the many groups that don't help the children understand that there are other people at the campground. A way to respect others instead of being self involved.

One of the best well run Parks in the country, accurate and clear maps, trail markers, water and bathrooms. If your goal is to see a Condor, they provide all the info you need to be successful.

Heard loud frogs much of the night was magical! I was surprised that there were port-o-potties (not a bathroom) in the C loop. There were puddles in front of the port-o-potties from recent rain. Not for wimps, but it worked. Sitting at the picnic table and listening/watching birds was wonderful.

The worse part of our stay was interacting with the rangers who were rude, unhelpful, and downright hostile. The worse people for tax payers to see how their dollars are spent. It is imperitive to hire or transfer new rangers to this park, preferable rangers who like people and interacting with them. One ranger chased a car down the road only to have the people get out and walk back to the gate and then having their car towed. Ranger said wthat the parking lot at end of road was full and people had to park far away in another location and alk in. My niece and friends were on the trail, when they got to the parking lot closer to trail head it was empty. Very poor customer service. Also when my brother-in-law drove his car tohis daughters campsite for dinner, the ranger came by and told him to move it to theparking lot as the site was only for 1 car. Also the campground sites were not clean nor were the bear proof storage containers clean.

In the campground loop where our site #65 was located the restroom is 4 portable potties with 2 portable handwashing stations. They were serviced regularly, but it was surprising to find out it wasnt an actual building. The flies, mosquitoes and other bugs are terrible at this campground. A raccoon that was accustomed to people probably feeding it kept coming into our site and tried to get inside our vehicle. Many of the sites are decently spaced and there is a lot of undergrowth providing some privacy. The showers by the camp store were nice - few national parks have showers. Overall, we were unimpressed with this small national park.

Site 65 had plenty of shade and good for a small party. Just understand that it appears they have no intention of putting in new restrooms so expect to have to use portapotties in this camp loop for the foreseeable future. It was nice to have access to hot showers.

Campground itself is great! It would be nice to connect the back loop to the front loop with a foot bridge so you can access the bench trail from the 50-70s sites without walking the 25 min all the way around. It was a big let down to have 1 set of ports potties for the whole back loop. Seems like there could be a better way to manage that.

Clean toilet and showers. Nice pool.My only complaint is being woken up at 7:20am by contractors cleaning the dry toilets. Large truck and crew that were very noisy and big truck making a lot of beeping noise when backing up

Beautiful park with an astounding amount of variety; campground is very close to the trailheads for many great hikes. Campsites are close together, but we had some bushes for privacy and it was great to be near the stream. Currently the bathrooms are out of order, but there are portable toilets available. We appreciated being able to use the showers by the pool, which have hot water.

The bathrooms were closed and there were Porta potties instead. We did not know that the bathrooms would be closed before we arrived. Using Porta potties is 100 degree heat really sucks. If we had advanced notice we would have brought our own facilities and privacy tent. Also your raccoons are insane.

Superb campground with excellent facilities; the charges per night are quite steep - and worthwhile if one is with a group to share the cost.

Stayed two nights during the week. If you like car camping you'll love Pinnacles; if you're like me and vastly prefer dispersed camping or backpacking, you'll manage.- Pinnacles is a prime example of why I dislike paid camping: expensive to camp, expensive to park, way too many people even on a weekday in the off-season. The first night we had a creepy drunk neighbor loudly blasting music and singing along. Second night we had a group on the other side playing tambourines and singing. $48/night to camp plus $35/week for the car is an expensive way to get annoyed by weirdos and creepers out in the woods. - Originally booked site 50 because I saw another review somewhere that it was shady. Lies! All in the sun. Was able to change sites for a $10 fee. We asked the attendant at the camp store what she recommended 64, 65, 66, and 74 were her picks. We went with 65, since it seemed like one of the only sites where youre not awkwardly staring at your neighbors. And there was actually water in the creek behind us!- Coin-operated showers were pretty neat 50 cents gets you 3 minutes. If you go when its quiet, the water is warm. However, there were only two showers available in the womens restroom and one was out of order. One shower to serve all the women in a campground with over 130 sites, not including RV and large groups? Good luck with that during peak season- The park itself is fantastic. If youre nimble and not afraid of heights, High Peaks trail is a must. Whoever designed that section of the park must have thought eh, well just chisel out an 18-inch ledge on the side of this rock, throw up a guardrail, and call it a trail. There are a few sections where youre not really walking up/down the stone steps so much as scrambling. Same situation with the Balconies Cave trail super cool, but the scrambling is not suitable for everyone.

The campsite and bathroom was very clean and well marked. Even though campsites were close, there is lots of privacy. It would be nice if the showers were larger and closer to the campsites.

We stayed at campsite 65. There are two picnic tables and enough space to park 3 cars. Lots of birds around.

Be careful of raccoons. They were hiding behind the bushes by the creek. It’s so fast that it stole a ziplock bag of 15 cooked drumsticks from us while we were preparing to have dinner.

The site is by a creek, there are tall trees on the side that blocks out the afternoon sun. We started our hike before sunrise, and finished before 2pm. It was really hot, but we were very comfortable sitting around under the tree shade.

The site is kind of small but pretty flat. We were able to put two 3p, a 2p, and a 1p tents in it, and not feel crowded. If you really want to, you can squeeze in two small tents, and can still have room to sit around the fire ring.

Great little campground. Campsites don't feel like they are on top of each other. Make sure to pack up all of your food, lots of critters about, including a couple of raccoons that we named "Randy" and "Pam," who we caught running through the campsite, looking for scraps at other sites. Would 100% come back.

I came in from Holister to solo camp. As a mixed(Hispanic/white) woman, I was immediately nervous about the lack of National park staff. The campgrounds were sketchy and the few “campers” in the back did not look like campers at all. A group of older men were on bikes and looked as if they were trying to take control of the entrance to the trail heads. They were on their motorcycles hiding behind signs or bushes along the side of the rode(like cops would) in the park. I got immediately nervous and intimidated so I ended up driving the almost 3 hours back home. I would have felt a little better with service but there was none. Not a good feeling inside the park because of them.

The hike from the campground to Bear Gulch reservoir was mostly shady. I was comfortable hiking it during summer, although I recommend you bring plenty of water & start early in the morning.
