Definitely take the High Peaks trail and get to the Bear Gulch parking lot early!

One of our favorite spots. We like to go to Balconies Cave. This time only the bottom half portion was open but as always, we loved the hike. The website said high fire dangers but thanks to the rain, it was okay to have a fire!

Tent camping in November was a fun experience, even with the rain! The hikes were beautiful, and the campgrounds were well-maintained and quiet. We did a hike from Old Pinnacles to Balcony Caves trail, and also along the Condor Gulch trail to the viewpoint, and both were very memorable, with beautiful views and unique experiences (not often we've had a trail go through a cave before). We were definitely seeing the negative impacts of visitors feeding the wildlife all summer, though. The raccoons were starving now that tourists weren't feeding them regularly, and they didn't seem to be foraging on their own. PLEASE do not feed the wildlife! The impact on them was terrible to witness. The campgrounds provided food lockers, which was helpful, but the raccoons were desperate and kept trying to get into it all night.

I loved my stay! I camped in at Pinnacles Campground in late October and the weather was perfect then not too hot during the day (if your campsite had shade), and not too cold at night. The campground was nice and quiet and the staff were very friendly. The toilets near my campsite were flushing ones and were very clean, probably the cleanest campground toilets I'd ever seen! I didn't use the showers or the pool, but both appeared super clean as well.I was worried about the raccoons, but I saw surprisingly few of them at night maybe it was too cold at that time of year? None of them approached my tent or picnic table, even though I did a bit of evening cooking. (I did have my cat with me, however, so maybe they were suspicious of her.) I did see plenty of deer and turkeys while walking around the campground during the day, which was a lovely bonus.

Oh my gosh. A swimming pool? Epic hikes you can access from the campground? Milky Way? Raccoons? Turkeys? Deer? Quail? CONDORS? Had them all. Pretty quiet after 8:30 pm when the group camp full of school kids were told to pipe down. Loud until then.

Outstanding park, clear dark skies, great hikes. Campground owned by 10 raccoons - beware! It would be nice if there were better facilities to wash camp dish gear.

The campground was great. Always a fun spot! We love checking out the caves and the hikes are always so much awe-inspiring! Definitely bring your binoculars for a chance to spot a condor and headlamp (for the caves)!

Beautiful NP, limited amenities wrt number of guests. Nice there is a swimming pool, but not very clean. Road reconstructions were clearly mentioned upfront, but in reality planning didnt match the announcements

Pinnacles is my favorite National Park. I love coming here not just for the incredible rock formations, but for the magnificent oak woodlands found within the park, and the diversity of birds and other wildlife this ecosystem supports. I went for a walk on the South Wilderness Trail on Sunday (a day when the park filled to capacity) and only saw five other people in the four hours I spent moseying through, taking photos of shooting stars and enchanting oak trees. I also saw a bobcat on this trail--it was awesome! On Monday, I hiked up to the reservoir and spent a couple of hours nature journaling there. The campground was so quiet, and the dark skies were incredible. This is the first time I used the shower facilities here and they were excellent. I appreciated all the little shelves to put my various bottles and bar soap--which I didn't even need! If I had known shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided, I would have just left my stuff at home.

We loved our campsite. The raccoons ARE NOT AFRAID of you. They WILL aggressively try to get near the food source, so make sure to keep your cookware and food locked up! Fun hiking options. Will be coming back!

We stayed at the Pinnacles twice in one week. The tent cabin was convenient and clean, but as there is absolutely no shade for the cabin, car or picnic table, it was completely unusable during the day. A few days earlier, we stayed at at shaded campsite, which I would recommend for summer visitors.

Check in was easy, the campgrounds were clean and the bathrooms were well taken care of. We beat the heat with an evening hike to Mt. Chalone and then an early morning High Peaks hikewhich also gave us a sky full of soaring condors.

I had a very nice campground site with a good spot for a tent with privacy and plenty of space. Unfortunately the nearest restroom was closed on our second day for upgrades including installing a new septic tank and leach field with heavy construction equipment operating all day making a lot of noise. I was also informed that all the coin operated showers throughout the entire campground
were out of service. After the second day of loud construction noise and no showers we decided to leave a day early.

Very private sites. Wildlife seen roaming around. Facilities are reasonably clean, though we were disappointed about the lack of showers available during our stay. They were under construction, and notices were posted stating they'd be open by June. Would have appreciated more proactive notice communicating delays in construction to guests, rather than communicating no/false information.

One word: condors! Excellent campsite. Only challenge is parking. Get to the trailheads early in the morning. Otherwise trails excellent.

Great spot located near small river. Birds, squirrels. Not too close to other van lifers and RV's.

Great campsite! Site 11 has great privacy and space compared to other sites. Very quiet this time of year (January). The camp store has mostly everything you need and the campground is a quick drive to all the trailheads. Bathrooms were clean and some of the nicest campground bathrooms Ive seen! The raccoons are definitely bold though but we were able to scare them off by shining a bright flash light at them.

Pinnacles is a fantastic park to visit for a few days - hikes, caves and condors. The hikes are not difficult, great views, interesting geology and fun visiting the caves. The campground was well laid out for privacy. The bathrooms and FREE showers were very clean. The only issue is the pack of raccoons (called the mafia) running to each campsite looking for food. They arrive in a gang and are the boldest raccoons I have ever encountered. They made sitting at the campsite miserable - we retreated to our car and tent to read. Everyone was yelling at them and banging pots - to no avail.

We stayed in site 11A. This site has more privacy because of its location at the tip of the loop. Restroom was clean and the motion-detecting lights provided enough light without being on constantly. Short drive to the trailhead. We didnt use the showers or camp store but nice amenities for those who need them.

The primary reason we picked Pinnacles Campground was that according to the website, their pool is open until the end of September. However, upon arrival we learned that the pool was already closed for the season, and no one had bothered to update the website or inform campers via e-mail. Very disappointing and extremely poor customer service.
