I reserved site 116 because it had a lot of privacy but 100 kids had rented 117, 118, and 119. I felt it was violating campground rules as they had about eight cars and 100 people camping in those four camp sites. As soon as I set up my tent they proceeded to continuously walk back and forth through my campsite in order to walk to the bathroom in the group site area which was completely open. As night fell each of the 100 children had their own flashlight which they insisted on pointing in my direction even though I had my telescope out and I asked them not to walk in my campsite and not flash bright lights at me. Why were they allowed to camp there with so many people and so many cars? They should have been in the group site area. The ranger came back there but said nothing. They also had obnoxious Christmas lights strung up on their tents. They should have been kicked out of the campground for violating the rules. That obnoxious ranger Nierman did nothing even after he saw they had too many cars and too many people for four campsites. Outrageous. They ruined my evening.

Site D 115 too small to back my trailer into. The map shows it has a 35ft Pad but you cant back a 26ft trailer into it because of the bushes across the street. No room to pivot my truck without severe damage. Upon request the campground gave me a site they keep for emergencies. Also found the park rangers to be way to unprofessional when dealing with minor problems.

Campground was much nicer & more wild than I expected it to be, having only previously seen it driving by for day hikes. It was comfortable & there was enough space for all our gear, but still enough plant growth to feel like the wilderness. Also, just a stunning amount of wildlife in the site itself. Baby bunnies nibbling on grass, wild turkeys roaming the fields, a whole tree full of turkey vultures. All added to the scenery, but none actually intruded on our camp or tried to steal our food.

The one downside is that the campground is very long, and the bathrooms are only at each end, so if you're somewhere in the middle, it can be quite a long walk. Also, have your reservations loaded up/printed out beforehand, cell service is very spotty in the park & on most of the last 30 miles driving in (from the Hollister side).

Site was great. Just be aware that campsite #s in the 200s are not on any of the maps or signposts. So make sure you know the location of your site within the campground if your in the 200s
