Sites are pretty much level, nice distance apart and most have some shade during the day. Restrooms were clean.

Beautiful as usual and well kept. Common areas and bathrooms clean. Hosts friendly as is park staff. And great pieand park and hikes. Scenic drive road improvement is excellent.

Really beautiful campground. Must have pie at the museum.

Such a lovely spot! Probably the nicest most relaxing place I have camped at. Red canyon walls surround the campground and the Fremont River runs right through it. The Gibson Family farm right next to the campground serves fresh baked goods (pies, bread and cinnamon rolls) daily. They also have a gift shop with many home canned items. The campground has three loops and only one allows you to run your generator, which on our fourth day became a problem for us so we moved outside the campground to run the generator. The campground is positioned to allow for many short hikes, playing in the river, and access to the Scenic Route of the park. I only wish that we had had a vehicle 23ft or less (our RV is 26 ft) in order to go into the Grand Wash and other interesting areas of the park. We also made use of the day use areas to exercise our dogs which was really wonderful. I cannot say enough about the Fruita Campground and Capitol Reef National Park. We LOVED IT!

5* review because of the restrooms, lol. They're heated - welcome in 35F weather - and have exterior motion detectors to prepare your way, both firsts for me in the NPS. Also well kept as are the scenic and tranquil campgrounds. Space was a little cramped but I was tent camping on an RV capable site and beggars can't be choosers. Having pie on the premises was awesome even if the strawberry-rhubarb pie itself wasn't that great. Peach for sure next time.

We stayed in spot 39 and it was great. Excellent spots for tents with minimal slant. There were too many trees for perfect astrophotography but you can walk to an open spot in the campground or drive/hike somewhere else. Location within the park is superb.

Beautiful location. Good set up. The only issues were the hand dryer in the bathroom didn't work which is tough when it is super cold and your hands freeze, and a bathroom stall was out of order.

While we were not able to stay in the campground for our entire trip, I was able to pick up two different cancellation slots during our four nights. We were in loop A one night and it was so, so peaceful The fact that they dont allow generators in loop A and B made a bigger difference than I think we realized it would. The bathrooms were all functioning and clean and it was great to have both a water bottle filler and a gray water dump/freshwater source as well. We also stayed in loop C a few days later The generators were not a major factor as theyre only allowed certain hours. There was one restroom in each of the bathrooms out of order, but that still left one in both of men and womens room Same thing, we loved having the water bottle filler on the great water dump Such a great location so quick to get to the visitor center, the scenic route or any of the trailheads!

The sites were spacious, there weren't too many of them, and the bathrooms were easily reachable from any of them. The night sky is amazing from the park, and it was fun to watch a small, unafraid herd of deer scope out the edibles in the campsite. Capitol Reef is my favorite national park and I feel lucky to have gotten a campsite there for two nights.

You want to try to get a space on the outside of the campground as the inside spaces, if you have a tent, are mostly dirt which will be mud, as it was for us, if it rains.

Very nice campground with excellent campground hosts. Visitor centre at Capital Reef is well staffed with knowledgable people.Biggest problem is Restroom facilities in Loop C needs a MAJOR overhaul! It is a dark room and day and night. The hand dryer in the womens restroom didnt work and they ask you to keep the main entry door to Restroom closed at all times, but it doesnt physically close. After doing a major overhaul of the camping site pads, I was disappointed to return to the campground and see nothing had been done to the restroom facilities. It wouldve been a perfect time to renovate when those sites were being renovated!

Scenery could not be beat. Sites were large and bathrooms were clean. Even heated.

CG Host, Gary, was really nice, helpful and good guy. CG bathrooms were clean. Campers were quiet and respectful. No generators was nice feature. Could hike right from CG or within very short drive. Place is just beautiful.

Our third time to Fruita Campground. We like that Loop A and B are non-generator loops. There are lots of trees for shade, which is a plus and minus. If you need solar then the sites on the outside of the loop road have more sun. There is now a bit of wifi at the entrance bulletin board at the campground. You can still go to the visitors center which has stronger wifi service. Of course you can walk to the farm house every morning for your pie and ice cream, sticky bun and/ or bread.

Absolutely great campground. It was very clean and easy to park our 40 ft camper. The pie and ice cream from the Gifford house is a must. We enjoyed the Hickman Bridge and Capital Gorge Hikes. The Grand Wash is great for a lazy afternoon stroll. Also if you get a chance to volunteer for the night sky testing, do so. We had tons of fun using the instruments and recording our findings, and what better way to give back to our National Park System.

Beautiful campground although the sites are a little close together, but fellow campers were quiet and respectful.

Quiet, great views, right on scenic drive and next to Gifford pie shop.

Great grassy area with access to shade, though not directly within the most obvious tent location. 3 min walk to Gifford house and the river. Great!
@GeorgeC007DA80 · Camped on Apr 9, 2026 at Campsite #69
This site - Loop C, 069 - is terrible. It is small, there are no trees or grass, it is immediately adjacent to a busy trailhead road, and there is no place to set up a tent - what little ground there is is covered in gravel/rocks. Cars passing on the gravel road kick up dust into this site. The fire ring is 18 inches from the road, so if the wind is blowing from the wrong direction, you have to set up your chairs in the road to enjoy the fire. This site should be removed.
@DavidP3257927 · Camped on Apr 8, 2026 at Campsite #12
Great park! We enjoyed the campground, biking the road, the stars a night, and that greta pei at the store!

It was very frustrating and disappointing to see the 'Campground Full' sign up the entire time of our stay and yet three unoccupied spots were always unavailable. Two had orange cones blocking them and a sign that said for 'administrative use." Two of the best sites in the camp sat empty, unused, while campers were turned away. The third site was across from the host and used to park a golf cart. An unfortunate example of administrators needs being put ahead of the publics. Unfortunate indeed. Three families were unable to enjoy a camping trip to one of our most beautiful National Parks that week because the the poor management of a very valuable and limited resource.

Spring is a great time to camp. Camp host was very pleasant - warned us about keeping our trash & food secure because of raccoons. Capitol Reef is a great park for hikes of all difficulties. Campgrounds were full so need to book early.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.
