Fruita Campground was a perfect base camp for our needs.NO CELL SERVICE HERE! Starlink was prominent in this campground.Camp Host Gary was excellent! So friendly and helpful with questions about the area. The restrooms were always clean and stocked. Dishwashing sink is provided, which was convenient.RV pads were nice and wide! Easy to fit motorhome with slides. Even though there is no hook-ups in this campground, the sun was easy to grab with the solar panels. Evening Ranger talks were educational and most of the Rangers were personable and eager to answer questions. The Night Sky/Astronomy talk was amazing!Dump station and water fill easy in and out.The Gifford House was nice. Some local jams, syrups, with homemade mini-pies. Hubby said they were really good! The cinnamon rolls were as well. Easy walking trails and great grassy areas with picnic tables. Had about 10 deer walking around eating well. Came into the campground proper as well as being in the grassy areas. What a treat! We will stay here again!

Our camping experience at Fruita was excellent. Bathroom was very clean. We were in the non-generator section, but to our delight, generator usage was at a minimum.

Other than not having hookups, the space itself was phenomenal. We didnt know what to expect from Capital Reef National Park but it was quite the positive experience overall. The camp ground was clean and easy to find. The limited generator use was actually nice to reduce noise. Highly recommended!

The campground was beautiful and very quiet in the evening. And when we accidentally locked our keys in the car, two rangers came right away and solved our problem! I was very grateful. Fuita campground was a highlight of our 9 day journey through Utah!

Beautiful location, the wildlife is amazing. There were deer everywhere and the orchards were gorgeous. The stables and Gifford house are close by, as well as the amphitheater. Being in the camp ground was definitely a highlight of my trip.

Great location and happy to have secured a reservation.
Beautiful, being next to the orchards. Trails were easy to access. Facilities were clean and efficient. Mule Deer wander freely and are pleasant to watch.

The camp host was the best host I've ever encountered.

Good communicator. Helpful information. Positive about the beautiful park. It was clear he really cared about the campground and helping everyone enjoy their time at Fruita. You should give him an award!!

This is one of our favorite campgrounds we have been too. There were orchards all around and nestled in the gorgeous rocks. We enjoyed the talks and programs put on by volunteers. My kids loved the Jr. Geology class and evening Geology talks.

We used to frequent Capitol Reef many years ago when we lived in Utah, and have since moved back to the state so we were anxious to revisit our favorite National Park. We love all five of Utah's National Parks, but especially CR, partly because its beauty was not as widely appreciated and it was thus far less crowded than today. We were back then able to just take our trailer and drive down and find a choice of great spots to camp without making reservations. Not so any more, and the spaces proved rather small and awkward to position a trailer. Moreover, the asphalt pads were not level (I suspect a Utah contractor had been awarded the job and didn't bother to insure a level pad, and probably muttered something along the lines of "that's good enough for government work" and moved on to the next one). Consequently, despite placing quite hefty and high supports under the trailer jacks, the jacks could still not be extended down sufficiently to correct the list to starboard which made camping akin to being on a sinking ship. This condition, in speaking with others, seems to have prevailed at each camp site. It is unfortunate that such as beautiful location suffers from overcrowding and poorly constructed pads.
