The campground was quite busy when I visited in August, yet it remained peaceful and free of disturbances. The host made several rounds each day and was consistently friendly and attentive. The paved, level sites are nestled among the trees, creating a comfortable and well-designed setting. Surrounded by stark, bare mountains, the campground feels like a true oasis, making the stay especially memorable.

Fruita cp was peaceful and secluded! We loved the river by the camp, the homemade pies at the Gifford House were awesome, and the sweet camp volunteer that took time to make us feel welcomed! Loved our stay here!

Nice, but spaces were close together with no screening between sites.

Wow, i really wanna give this place 5 stars Clean, bathrooms were fine, amazing location in the park close to everything, just an absolutely beautiful area with the river right there, sweet little walks everything you could want in a campground!!! Except for the fact there is zero privacy, its just like camping in a open area with 400 people you never wanted to meet. I mean theres nothing to be done for it, and honestly the area is wonderful, just know that you are 100% going to be 15 feet away from people on all sides To me its a 5 star campground in a 5 star location and 5 star amenities with 2 star for the actual campsite if that makes sense But if i was coming back to CRNP, yes, i would stay here again just for the location in the park, no doubt, so thank you as always USNP service, had a great time!!

Beautiful location. Quiet campground with Loops A&B for no generators. No hookups. Well maintained pads. Clean fire rings. Many trails accessed directly from the campground. Ample parking (off season). Cinnamon rolls were still cooking at the first part of November. Bathroom was uniformly clean and delightfully (womens BR) heated. Toilet stalls, no showers, air hand dryers. We would have had to go to Torrey 11 m away for wood as we didnt see any at the "store" or park office. Delightfully- no cell service but there is a pay phone in the campground for calls/emergency and wifi just at the visitor center. Unfortunately the scenic drive was closed for road work (but it was on the NP website, so we knew in advance).

Beautiful, well kept, grassy campground with a resident herd of deer

Similar to camping on your own front lawn with a bunch of other people. Campground was very full, no privacy between sites. Campground hosts were friendly and helpful, bathroom was clean.

Capitol Reef is an incredible place beyond measure, it was so much more than we expected. Right in the middle of it all is Fruita Campground. If you're looking for solitude and complete quiet, stay somewhere else as it is a national park campground. However, the grounds were incredibly well taken care of, the orchards were awesome, the river was a wonderful background noise the whole time and several trails are literally right across the street for you to enjoy. We stayed here for four nights and aside from a few loud families and folks in and out constantly, we really enjoyed our time and would absolutely come back. Bring your sprinter though, it seems that everyone has one now so when we sported our tent for those 4 days, it felt a bit strange because we couldn't join the constant conversations about what upgrades we had to our camper. :-)

Campground was pleasant and well maintained. The low rating reflects current generator hours which disturbs other non-generator campers in the morning and early evenings.

This was a beautiful campground in the park. I enjoyed watching the deer in the orchards. Beautiful views of the rocks surround you and a dark sky at night to gaze at the stars. Really, really loved the evening programs at the amphitheater too.

Fruita is one of the greatest campgrounds in the National Park system. Where else can you camp in an orchard. Well maintained, clean, and quiet, the setting is spectacular.

We enjoyed our trip to Capitol Reef NP. U24 is under construction from Torrey to the Visitor Center, so there was some delay both arriving at the park and leaving. Due the road construction, we limited our activities to hikes that were within walking distance of the campground. We did drive the Scenic Drive to Capitol Gorge and got the last parking spot there. This was after failing to get a parking spot at Grand Wash. Even with the increased visitation, the park still offered a very relaxing experience!

The campground was really clean and private, not too close nor too far from your neighbors. The bathrooms were really clean as well. Depending where your site is, it could be a little far, but not terribly far. Just make sure to carry a light with you if traveling in the dark. The only location you'll get wifi is at the visitor center. It's such a lovely center though, definitely check it out. We hiked Cassidy Arch, absolutely beautiful trail! Worth the hike for the beautiful views. We also saw a ton of wildlife: deer, turkey, woodpecker, big horn sheep, and a skunk! I definitely plan on going back. It's a gorgeous park and campground that it's my favorite of the five parks in Utah. You won't be disappointed if you visit.

We always enjoy our camping experience at Capitol Reef Fruita Campground. This year we did hikes that were new to us and had fun doing them with our friends.

Shade trees are amazing, all the sites have good shade. The bathrooms are kept relatively clean. The fruit orchards are so neat and you can actually pick fruit that is ripe right off the tree and pay a small fee (weight based) to keep the fruit. The surrounding area is beautiful and full of history. The Gifford House sells ice cream and amazing tasty treats including fresh made pastries, pies and bread! I would definitely stay again!

The campground is wonderful. I only wish generators would be restricted to between 2 and 4 in the afternoon. It would be much nicer if the breakfast and dinner hour did not include the noise of motors.

Great campground! Only suggestion would be to direct campers to the available water refill spicket if one is closed for winter. Location was easy to find and spots were clearly marked. Great experience overall!
