Fruita is a boondocking campground, meaning no electricity, water or sewer. To offset that, the campground was fantastic and modern. All paved sites, picnic tables and clean restrooms on each loop. Unlike the other parks there was green grass all round, fruit orchards and the Fremont River adjacent to the park. The dump station and the water fill stations were clean with non-potable water for washdown and potable water for filling your freshwater tank (don't get those mixed up!!).
Making Fruita even cooler was the "Gifford House" that was a short walk from the campground (at least for us in Loop A) that had pastries for sale every morning at 8:00AM. I do recommend the sourdough bread.
In short, I can't speak highly enough of Fruita. The small downside is that there was no cell service there, but we really didn't care.
