Cold winter's day but beautiful surroundings and peaceful campground full of deer at times.

The most gorgeous campground. We always love our stays here. Cant beat the location, the orchards, river walk and homemade pie in the morning!

A pleasant campground with large sites. Would definitely stay here again.

Campground was clean and bathrooms were relatively clean. Site 12 was nice. Parking was paved and almost flat. It was early season, so campground was quiet. Easy access to hiking trails, visitor center, and historic district. If you have a tent, there aren't designated tent pads, so you have to find a place on the grass.

Amazing campground, we were in site 18 with a 38 ft motorhome, looking out at the mountains each morning, steps away from the orchards, watching deer and grabbing wonderful pies and cinnamon rolls. Access to trails. Only issue was getting rig into site as the one way route was impossible to drive into site, driveway pointed wrong direction. Definitely not level, a few blocks under our wheels made it work. Gorgeous location and beautiful park, definitely need a vehicle to get to see all the sites.

It was a great place to stay! We were delighted by the horses, near by hikes, orchards, museum store, and ranger talks!

Nice campsite the orchards, a small walk to the amphitheater and to buy pies and wood

They have some of the best hiking trails. The campgrounds and host were very good.

What a lovely setting: flowing river, tall trees, and access to fresh pies.

We absolutely fell in love with Fruita and Capital Reef NP. They were both hidden Jewels among the company of the 4 other Parks of the Might Five.

Fruita is a boondocking campground, meaning no electricity, water or sewer. To offset that, the campground was fantastic and modern. All paved sites, picnic tables and clean restrooms on each loop. Unlike the other parks there was green grass all round, fruit orchards and the Fremont River adjacent to the park. The dump station and the water fill stations were clean with non-potable water for washdown and potable water for filling your freshwater tank (don't get those mixed up!!).

Making Fruita even cooler was the "Gifford House" that was a short walk from the campground (at least for us in Loop A) that had pastries for sale every morning at 8:00AM. I do recommend the sourdough bread.

In short, I can't speak highly enough of Fruita. The small downside is that there was no cell service there, but we really didn't care.

This was a highlight of our trip. The camp host was so friendly, the sites and bathrooms were clean and the landscape was amazing. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.
