It's a very pleasant campground set in a stunning landscape. The campground hosts are helpful and friendly and keep a tidy and quiet campground. Everything was perfect, thanks especially to the campground hosts.

Great Basin is a wonderful park and Fruita is central, but was difficult to get a spot.Water was mostly shut off - and there are no showersWe were in a tent site, but other vehicles were parking there and some campers who came in late had no where to park - camp host and rangers need to police this betterTent sites were irrigated - so muddy when we first arrived

Fruits campground is well maintained. I appreciated the lack of generators in the A and B loops. It would be nice if the tent spots were not adjacent to C loop and not set quite so far back from the parking over open nothingness

Walk-in site just 50 ft. from parking area. Clean bathroom. Campsite backs up to Scenic Drive, but there's no traffic at nighttime.

The sites are clean and the campground hosts are nice. I had to make two separate bookings for two consecutive days as and when the sites became available. There were a few first-come-first-serve (FF) sites available (which can only be booked in person for the day), which were convenient for me to move my tent due to closeness, but there is no way to modify my reservation from my booked site to the available FF site via online or by the campground host. So, I had to move to my reserved site in another loop for the next day. Rangers present informative programs at the amphitheater, which are fun for kids as well as adults. Twice a week, there is also a program about the night sky star constellation around 10:30 pm. The Capitol Reef National Park is a dark-sky protected area; therefore, it is great for star gazing.

Campground is clean, close to hiking trails and restrooms m. All facilities were clean and well maintained. It was one one of the quietest campgrounds I have visited with tent campers and recreational vehicles separated. The fruit trees in the adjacent fields and horse pens close by gave a pleasant farm vibe.

Beautiful campground. We came in the spring, but perhaps next time we'll visit in the fall so we can enjoy the fruit from the orchard. Clean bathrooms. We got the walk-in site, which has plenty of space for our two (large) tents. The biggest downside was it rained/snowed everyday we were there. The walk-in sites are basically one big field, and the rain/snow made it very muddy. We had half an inch of Utah dirt on the soles of our shoes by the time we were done packing our tents. We enjoy the scenic drive that started right at the campground. It was nice that there are a few trails that start not far from our campsite. We also did the geology talk at the amphitheater. We hope to be back again someday. Capitol Reef is so beautiful with lots of adventurous hikes.

We were in the walk-in camping, it rained, there was a large Clay puddle we had to walk through to access our campsites, half the campsites were mud, plant some grass!Get a larger visitor center, more parking lots, many hikes had no parking available whatsoever and only parking for 10 to 15 cars to begin with

I stayed 5 nights at walk-in tent site #46 late September past. While the site was well designed, it sorely lacked shade all afternoon, due to lack of enough tree shade; the other tent sites all seemed to be better situated in this respect. Also, all of the tent sites suffered from very wet and muddy ground conditions from recent rains, very messy. As for the restroom situation, there is no walk way in place for tent-site campers to reach the restrooms without passing through various RV sites; the primitive pit toilet closer to the tent sites is very smelly --- to be expected --- and a crude alternative to the nicely appointed restrooms, which have running water, soap, mirror and electricity. I got the strong feeling that the walk-in campers are given short shrift in convenience and access to the amenities enjoyed by the RV and other campers. Just because we choose to stay in tents doesn't mean that we prefer more primitive, dirtier, less convenient campground amenities. Nor does it mean we enjoy hauling all of our gear from the far-off parking area over the sometimes muddy field of the tent sites. Why is it even a "walk-in" camping area, anyway? Does the Park Service think that tent campers prefer to have their vehicles located at an inconvenient distance from their sites? That makes no sense; we're in a national park campground, after all, not in the wilderness. Accordingly, I think the location of the sites should be reconfigured, or the parking area be moved up closer to the tent sites. Raised tent sites that can drain moisture would be a welcome improvement. Actual walking paths leading to the sites --- also raised for drainage --- would be much nicer than the existing situation, especially since, as I understand it, the walk-in field is sometimes watered, which I can only imagine would create an even messier, unpleasant camping experience. I think the tent area could use some serious re-thinking and improvements. Thank you.

This tent spot is in full sun all day and directly adjacent to the main road. The tree shown in the photo is now partially dead with many main branches removed. We stayed for several nights later in the week after Labor Day and the campground was full every night. (Had reservations well in advance, but this was the only site with the contiguous nights we needed.) Although the tent spots (five or six as I remember) are defined by number, table, and fire ring, they share a common parking area and large open semi-grassy area. No privacy and some neighbors had no problem expanding their stuff and equipment near adjacent sites. Worse site in the campground. I don't recommend it unless it's the only one available. The only positives is the deer will graze on the grass between sites and the restrooms are clean. We found the campground hosts next to useless and they try their best to be non-communicative. The rest of the campground (Loops A, B, and C), visitors center, and ranch and farm buildings, hiking trails and views are excellent.

Large, but quiet campground! We had a great time!! Didnt catch the camp hosts name, but she was very sweet and helpful! Clean bathrooms and spacious sites! Our site, #46, was right next to the main road, but there was no road noise at night! See deer, wild turkeys, and the horses in the barn next to the campground! Also check out the history and yummy jams and knick-knacks from the Gifford House! (March 2022)

We reserved a tent site and it was in a field with other tent sites, no privacy, very hard ground. Long walk to restrooms and water and near the main road so noisy.
