Ortona South Campground in Glades County is located 39 min northeast of Lehigh Acres, FL with an elevation of 13 feet. There are a total of 52 campsites. The campground is open all year. 48 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 30 and 45 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 49 sites have electric and water hookups. Fees range from $30.00 to $35.00. Some amenities include shower, dump station. Activities include biking, fishing.
The Wooden fishing pier and the wooden bridge are closed because of safety issues.

What a beautiful campground. Fun to watch the occasional boat go through the lock, plus good birdwatching and even some otters to see. Well kept and very clean; nice host and staff. Recommend highly. Plus some good places in LaBelle if you want to get out for a bite.

This is a great campground. The new camp hosts have done a wonderful job in upgrading the maintenance. Hope they stay at this campground for years.

Great campground! Go and see manatee park across from the power plant, we enjoy watching the boats go through the locks at the campground. We went and biked about 42 miles of of the Lake Okeechobee (Lost Trail ). We saw all kinds of wildlife while on the trail. My only improvement for the campground is update the bathrooms. Walmart just 15 minutes from campground.

Well kept campground. Large size paved sites. My only complaint is that the flood lights at the bathrooms are so bright during the night that it bothered my sleep.

We love Ortona!! It is quiet, relaxing place! We love watching the boats go through the locks.The bathroom and showers are always very clean.

One of the nicest campgrounds we've ever stayed at. Two weeks and no problems. enjoyed watching the boats and yachts pass through the lock. Even saw a bald eagle fly by.

What a wonderful five days we just spent at the Ortona South COE campground! Fortunately, there were a couple of last minute cancellations, and those campers were kind enough to take the time to cancel, as opposed to just not showing up, so that someone else can have the site. The two hosts who greeted us, Vicki and Joe, were very welcoming and friendly throughout our visit. If you are fortunate enough to get a site on the water, it is such a peaceful place to relax and watch the beautiful yachts come and go, as well as enjoy a campfire toward evening. The dump station is kept clean and functions well. This was our second time camping at Ortona South, and we will definitely be returning. The U.S. Army Core of Engineers provides a wonderful service to us, and we say thank you!

Ortona South is a beautiful campground. Very well maintained. The only negative is the smelly water. The water has a strong sulfer odor and no, it is not our water heater. The water straight from the spigot has the odor.

Great quite campground in South West Florida cattle country, located on the Caloosahatchee river a short drive from Lake Okeechobee, Labelle, Alva & other outdoor enthusiasts ideal settings for hiking, fishing, kayaking, boating, etc.
