Nice, clean, quiet campground. Great place to de-stress while watching boats travel thru a working lock. Bathhouse is long overdue for remodeling, HOWEVER, it was kept very clean. Kudos to the staff. Will absolutely return and recommend.

Wonderfully quiet place, fishing pier is closed after latest storm; no visible damage. Should be functioning soon....

Perfect like always..will continue camping at Ortona..such a pleasure camping at Ortona. Always clean, friendly and respectful staff. Cant wait to book out next camping trip.

We love the Corp campgrounds.... Well maintained, mowed and easy to get in and out of.

Nice quiet campground with a great view of the lock system. Bathrooms are a little dated, but clean. Highly recommended!. Be careful of the access road to the campground, as it is rather beaten up.

Ortona South is a very nice property that is well maintained. All sites include a concrete pad, water/power, and a substantial picnic table. The bathrooms are clean. Being adjacent to a lock, it is interesting to see boat traffic traversing the river/canal while camping there. This is our favorite campground that is run by the Army Corps of Engineers; we have visited several.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet of this campground. It was fun to watch boats go through the lock. The camp host, Loyal and his wife were very nice and helpful. We stayed a total of eleven days over the course of three weeks, and look forward to returning next winter.

This was our second time here and it was just as great as the first time. It’s beautiful to watch the boats go in and out of the locks. The bathrooms are a little older, but they’re still clean. Walking down to the fishing pier is pretty cool. The site spacing is great. It’s easy to park in the site. It’s very clean and would definitely visit again.

Every site in this lovely camp ground has a beautiful view. The wild-life is exuberant and the humans are chill. It's fun to watch the water craft pass through the locks and canals. The place is clean and dog friendly. The hosts and staff are top rate. I'm a big fan.
