The sites are large and it's nice to relax and watch the boats go through the lock.

First off, our rate was lower due to America the Beautiful senior pass

Great campground. Mostly level, ( I think) cement pads and stone picnic / bbq areas. The accessible sites have cement picnic slab

Elec & water. Dump Station is limited to once per week. If you use it on arrival, there is a $20 charge.

Lovely restful area, seems to be a constant breeze ( at least, at this time of year) that helps. Professionally kept , clean and trimmed landscape.

Fishing and watching lock operations seem to be about the sum of activities. And. You can walk right up to locks.

Not much vegetation for privacy, but angles and spaced to provide as much privacy as possible.

Did not use facilities, so no comment
Definitely repeatable

Great little campground. Our site (#2) did not have any shade but we used our awnings and did just fine. The sites in our loop were large with nice space between sites. The grounds are very well maintained. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We were disappointed that the bridge was locked but it was not the fault of the campground. A very relaxing, peaceful experience.

The camping experience was very nice, the campground clean and well-maintained. We had site 2 with a super view of the river. The only negative was the attitude of the camp host who was very unfriendly. When checking out at 11:00 he stopped by and asked if there was a problem as it was 11:05. We advised him there was an issue with our rear jacks and his comment was, "go ahead and go, they'll clear and the next camper is here and waiting." It was our understanding check-in is 12:00. Other than that, all was good.

A great place to relax and watch the boat traffic through the locks or fish.

We come here often just to relax and fish- such a peaceful spot. And of course my husband loves the fishing. Beautiful setting, nice and quiet and close to home for us! Highly recommend!!!

Came upon this looking for camping sites on Google Earth. When Zooming in and saw it was a campground I had to check it out. The reviews were great. I dove out to check it out as wall as WP Franklin. I knew I had to Book. only 1 hr and half from home. I was able to Book at Ortona. Very Quiet and Peaceful. Camp Host was very helpful. 27' Sportsman Site 2. Will be back.
