We enjoy camping in Army Corp of Engineering campgrounds. Two comments/recommendations. 1) In Florida winter, It is extremely difficult to make a reservation for 14 days in the same site. It looks like it is the right moment to expand the number of sites. 2) To add for-pay washers and dryers would make the campers life more enjoyable.

Ranger very informative along with volunteers were supper welcoming. Park was extremely well maintained.

Best laid out campground ever. Hosts were friendly except a little edgy 15-20 minutes before check out time. Watching the locks work is very interesting. Bathrooms and showers were exceptional. Very quiet and not overcrowded. Relaxing stay in a warm climate. Dump station was well planned and easy to use. Great campground!

I was only at Ortona for two nights but thoroughly enjoyed the campground, nature, and the friendliness of neighbors and staff. Campground and facilities were well maintained. I will definitely return when I have more time to explore.

Very clean and well manicured. Need more trash cans.Most spots can accommodate 40 feet easily.Camp hosts are friendly and helpful.

I almost hate to write a positve review because this RV camp is hard enough to get into. I've been coming here for years, this year I planned ahead and made my 14 day reservation early enough so I had one spot the entire time, but last year I had to move 9 times in 14 days! Far enough from civilization to return to nature but close enough to take in what Ocean Springs and Biloxi has to offer. I really can't say enough good things about Davis Bayou Campground.

Excellent support from the volunteers. Very good stay. To improve campers comfort, we suggest to add coin operated washers and dryers. There is no laundromat nearby.

Campsite was great. Host was very nice but asked us to change sites. It wasn't bad but we were tent camping and chose that sight for a reason. After that the dogs barked at every rig leaving very early in the morning as we were put beside the check station. Know one ued our original site, I think it may have just been because it shared a concrete pad with an RV that was taking up too much space or would have problems connecting their tow behind in the morning and she didn't want to ask them to move. All in all it is a very nice campground.

Both set of hosts are the best my wife and I have experienced throughout the USA. They do everything they can to make your stay very enjoyable. .

Beautiful campground. Very friendly hosts. Had a night of music. Hated to leave when we did since there was a fish fry scheduled that weekend. A little less than an hour from Ft. Myers. Want to stay again if we can get in.

Site 43 was great, had a wonderful stay. Bath house was always clean, lots of security lights which was great. Hand dryer in mens room was out of order most of the time. Over all a great time.

Ortona South is a great place to camp. Got to see a lot of birds, and lots of people fishing. Rode our bikes a bit also.

Nice, quiet campground with friendly hosts. Clean bath house. Sites were large and had water and electric. Enjoyed watching the boats go through the lock. Had planned to ride the Okeechobee Bike Trail, but they were working on it and had all access points blocked. Very disappointed. We did some day trips to Palm Beach for the zoo, Flagler museum, and Mounts Botanical Garden.

Large sites with paved, level pads and gravel patios. Covered picnic tables, fire ring and E/W hookups with dump station at entrance.
