The hosts staff was great and the grounds were well maintained. The rest rooms and showers were in good working order and I notified the Corp offices of two issues that were corrected within one day.The dock and bridge were closed due to storm damage and will hopefully be repaired soon. Saw lots of otters and good sized Gator. One of our favorite corps locations.

Lovely campground right on the banks of the locks. It was windier in the east loop than the west loop while we were there. There was also a precautionary advisement to boil water posted on the restroom door but no mention of it at check-in. When I inquired later, the camp host was a bit snarky in answering my questions. I was simply looking for additional information and I ultimately received it, but I felt that I was irritating him by asking, so that was a bummer. Otherwise, a really nice trip!

This was our 3rd stay. A very relaxing campground. We enjoyed watching boats going through the lock, alligators, deer and birds. We stayed in site 1. The spillway and open land are your backyard and canal and lock are your front!

Great Place to camp. Most sites are good, a few sites are awesome.

We stayed at this park in a 27' Travel Trailer. Getting to the park from I 75 and Fl 80 near Fort Meyers, was straight forward. Note that your GPS may call for a U-turn to enter the park but ignore that and follow the sign to the park. The campground layout consisted of 2 separate loops with power and water. Our site (1) was a back-in, level, and room enough for our truck & trailer. The site surface was a concrete pad that was very level. There is little privacy here as the sites are near each other with no shrubbery separation. There is some shade, but they are generally open. All the sites were nice, but some may prefer being next to the canal. Cell phone coverage with Verizon was great (134 mb download, 20mb upload). OTA TV had several channels, and all major networks. No Wi-Fi. The campground seemed to be full every afternoon. There a single dump stations with easy in and out. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restrooms are showing their age. The showers had limited privacy, but good water pressure, hot water and very clean. The camp hosts do a great job keeping the area tidy. Our site was clean when we arrived. Best of all was the Corps of Engineers price at $15 for Golden Pass holders.

we enjoyed watching the boats in the locks (wish we would have been able to see them from the other side too). Enjoyed watching the birds also. Didn't care for all the fire ants every where. We aren't fisherman so didn't do any of that, but watched others.

Except for the misunderstanding with someone else who thought they were still booked for the day we arrived and it took them almost 1 hour to pack up and leave the spot everything else was amazing. I understand these are volunteers but if you see someone didn't check out and you have someone checking into that spot the following hour have them vacate sooner.
