Quiet and peaceful area. Was nice walking on the beach. Just wish it had been a bit warmer!

Even in December this is a beautiful place to be.

One of the few open natural seashore environments unobstructed by hotels, high rise condominiums, amusement parks, etc on the Gulf coast. Significant historical interest.

Loved the nature trails

My opinion might be influenced by the fact that the weather at home was snowy and 30 versus nearly 70 at Fort Pickens but my whole experience was great. The camp ground was a (maybe) 5 minute walk from the beach and the beach was beautiful. The campground and restrooms were well maintained and the showers were spacious and had both warm water and warm temperatures. I find that its usually one or the other and not both. I would definitely camp at Fort Pickens again!

We stayed in loop E. The campground is nice, but a bit overcrowded with spaces very close together. The worst part are that the bathrooms were not cleaned timely and the showers were in serious need to repair and cleaning - they were disgusting. The dish washing sink was stopped up and overflowing for 2 days. We will not be back.

Loved the area. Sites were to small and close together. Would be willing to pay more to have less sites farther apart and bigger.

First time spending Thanksgiving on the beach with our delicious take out dinner from one of the resorts.

Site here are very small. I saw some that would not have even fit my Toyota Tacoma. No vehicles are allowed on the grass and they check daily. Sites are open with no privacy. The walk to the fort from the campground is about a mile. Very interesting to walk around. If you like walking you can walk on the wall that surrounds the fort.

We enjoyed walking from Loop A to the Fort. There was so much to see. The next day we took our bikes to see the rest of the Fort. Loved the beach and sunsets.

It was such a beautiful beach and campground. Loved the self guided tour of the fort. I am planning another trip in June.

Fantastic!!!! Excellent location! Secluded, yet close to civilization! Lots of history to learn about, and all in close proximity! Campground was AWESOME! Only stayed 2 nightsbut guaranteed, next stay will be 7-10 days! New #1 camping location for us!

Great spot. The campground was very quiet, and most spots had good tree cover. The bathroom had showers and a laundromat as well which was very nice for a NPS campground. The beach was only a short walk away. You can find a whole weekend of activities to do without leaving the Fort Pickens area. We will definitely be back.

Bathroom on B loop under construction. Bathroom on E loop poorly maintained and cleaned.

The campground could use some updates. The drives are short and almost anyone with a trailer has to park in overflow parking. The showers in loop E were horrendous. The ones in loop D only slightly better. BUT, location location location, you cannot beat it!!! Beaches are beautiful, Ft Pickens was interesting to explore and there are nice trails.

Great campgroundSites really vary in length and height (overhanging branches) - so check details of site before booking and look at Google maps for spaciousness etc,Trails for walking or mtn biking - beaches on both north and side are good for walks or bird watching

Overall great campsite. Showers were a little grubby but they are in the process of updating them. Long overdue but at least they're tackling them now. Not sure if it was an over zealous camp host, but I got a "violation" notice for my car not parked correctly even though all four tires were on the tarmac. When I asked about it I was told "Well to get at that angle you must have driven on the grass" I did not, but whatever. If the THINK you drove on the grass, you get a notice. I saw several trucks backing up and forth on the grass and nothing was said to them. On the plus side (so to speak) our slide got stuck out on departure day. The host said no one was incoming into our site so said take your time. I appreciated that!

The week following the shutdown was beautiful! Park was in excellent shape in a very short time.

Ft Pickens is one of our favorite campgrounds. I only wish they would add sewer to the sites.

Beautiful beach, peaceful bay, a nice mostly shady nature trail, and history all in one park. Bathrooms and campsites are clean. Its one of my favorite places to camp

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
