Great camp grounds and great people. Need full service camp spots. But before that remodel of bath houses is greatly needed. Currently very run down and not very functional.

We came to Pickens to avoid the worst winter weather and had three very nice weeks plus Winter Storm Enzo, which turned out to be fun not to mention the greatest snowstorm of our lives. Our camp hosts, Ron and Karen, go above and beyond. And everyone loves talking to them; they work all day perhaps because they talk with dozens of campers every time out. Ron spent part of a day off the morning after Pensacola got 9 1/2" of snow because it had begun to melt on the roof of the shower/toilet building and huge curtains of snow and icicles were hanging dangerously over the sidewalk and door. He knocked the loose stuff down. He called in a repair request to restore power to our electric pedestal just before the storm. The repair guys had gone home for the night, but he loaned us a 30 amp extension cord, which along with ours was enough to reach an open site next door. I'll wind it up here. Ron and Karen know the rules of the park, but their first rule is "Our job is to help everybody enjoy their camping experience."And that, they do very well.

This was our first time in the Park. It was over and beyond our expectations. We immediately booked a site to stay longer while we were there. We just happen to be passing through on our way to Gainsville. We travel with a 130lb black German Shepard that's 9 year old retired service companion. He goes every where with us and does great around anyone and any animal. The only thing we didn't like is that dogs aren't allowed on the beach. Of course thats his favorite place in the world. We always carry bags for . I just wish he could also walk on beach with us... Its sad that so many people dont pick up after their pets that it causes respectful people like us not to get to enjoy the beach. Im suggesting that instead of not having dogs allowed on beach, post heavy fines and actually in force it. If someone gets 2 or more fines then they wont ever be allowed on beach with pets again. There's a dog beach before you get into the park but it is small and very crowded. All the people on beach are all crammed up in that small area. When all the miles of beach is pretty much empty. So please either extend the beaches for dogs or post fines for not picking up after them. Make them steep fines that way we can all enjoy. Other then that and not having septic on site this place is a bomb. Ive booked 9 days in August and all ready for it to be here. There's a dump station right behind our site, so we will just unhook everything once every 4 days to go dump and start hooking back. Cant be too hard. Anyone considering coming here please do. You too will fall in love.

We live close, so Ft Pickens is a favorite with us. We are between selling and buying our new camper so we used a tent. We also have the handicapped site since hubby is 100% disabled. Camp-host across from us was up early and loudly on her phone each morning. Ugh. Talk about a rude awakening each early morning as we listened to her loud phone conversations. Other than that. All was great although this time we really had to scrub to clean the picnic table as it was awful with food and gunk. Still we love it here. Just getting older and would have appreciated more quiet and cleaner tables.

This is our favorite campground. The rangers and the camp hosts have always been very friendly and helpful, especially Stacy. The beaches are second to none. We like to come here as often as we can. Keep up the great work!

2nd year camping here. Loop A love this campground. So much to see & do if you like being by the gulf. Rangers & hosts are friendly & so helpful! Restrooms in loop A could use updating. Loop B restrooms are newer & super clean. Will be back in 2023 for sure.

We love Fort Pickens and return every year in January. The campground and reservations are fabulous. Recommended in Pensacola is Joe Patti's Seafood. It is an incredible seafood market. The plan is always to be back next January.

Thanks you!

Our favorite NAT Park. We were there two days. May 16-17 2021 and the Park Ranger who checked us in went out of his way to set us up with a great site. We had a reservation but it required us to move sites. The Nice Ranger redid things so we could have the same spot two nights. Super nice guy

If you are a beach lover and enjoy walking trials Fort Pickens is just for you. Good camping spaces with updated bathhouses. While the camp hosts rotate we have always found our interaction with them great.
