We have been wanting to take a camping trip to Fort Pickens for years. We finally did this year, and we made great memories. We felt safe, and we loved our walk to the beautiful beach. I was disappointed in the condition of the walkway to the beach. The walkway from the road to the beach was warped, uneven, and missing boards. It made it difficult to pull our beach wagon on. We were disappointed that the discovery center was closed but we still enjoyed walking around Fort Pickens.

Hello fellow campers. Sam from Mississippi here to encourage you to visit Fort Pickens. Lets start with the positive points first. The beach is absolutely beautiful!! The sea eagles (osprey) are everywhere, they are very easy to observe because they fly low along the beach in search of food. They wont bother you when you bring out that bag of Cheetos like the seagulls. The camp host and all of the park staff are friendly and welcoming. The grounds crew are very good at keeping the campground clean. Ive seen them 100 times and still get goose bumps and a sense of patriotic pride when the Blue Angels perform their air show. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the surf fishing is fantastic! Now for some hopefully helpful suggestions: 1- measure the total length of your tow vehicle and the camper and reserve a pad to match that length unless you are willing to leave the tow vehicle in the overflow parking.2- If you want it, take it in with you. Traffic is horrible at Pensacola Beach Friday through Sunday.3- Its a national park with stringent safety regulations. The weather is unpredictable and so is the government. There is a small chance that you will be asked to leave the park. Ive seen pictures of cars sitting in 4 feet of water.Trust me, its worth the risk!

We reserved site C20 from March 10-15 2024. we have a 20' travel trailer being pulled by a Jeep Grand Cherokee. the site was great but the paved pad was too short for our Jeep and trailer to fit without blocking the road. We parked our Jeep on an angle but still on the paved drive not blocking the road. We were told by one park ranger that the Jeep had to be straight in line with the trailer or move the Jeep to guest parking. There were multiple campers with the same situation. The park ranger was very rude and abrasive demanding for action to be RIGHT NOW, the camper next to us got upset at the rangers attitude and packed up and left, we felt there were other ways to address the situation. Our friends that traveled with us stayed at C19 and were told that their tent was too close to the brush at the rear of the site, again the ranger (same one) was aggressive and gave them a written warning. We will not be returning to this location or recommending it to any of our fellow travelers, the park is great but the staff makes you feel like your not welcome here.

Nice campground, roomy sites, clean bath houses. Buggy at night and ants in campsite. Long drive and crowded area to get supplies. Beach is white sand and clear surf. Fishing pier gets crowded, full of smokers and discarded cigarette butts. I caught some nice small Spanish Mackerel using a suspended plug off the pier.

Really enjoyed our stay. First time since 2004 it was great. I thought Langdon beach had lifeguards daily but only saw them 2-3 days out of 8 we were there. Not a big issue for us. We’ll be back
