It was very good after a delay due to weather. The notification system for reopening could be improved with email notification to those with reservations.

We enjoyed our first time visit to Fort Pickens Campground. The paved site was nice. I was able to walk to the beach in about 3 minutes. The boardwalk needs some repair but was still much better than walking through the sand and bushes.I used the local shower one night and the hot water did not work. Brrrr!!

Really enjoy this park! Lots to see and do. Great to have laundry room, with deep sinks. Good showers. Just beautiful beaches! Windy but many sides of Barrier Island to choose to enjoy.

Fort Pickens is a great campground to visit, if you book your stay several months in advance.\Had booked stay several months in advance for one week. During that week's stay, decided it would be good to stay another week, but due to campground crowding, had to move twice, and was going to move the third time, in order to stay.Had freezing temperatures while there, and both of the campground dump stations were closed. Also, had to evacuate early due to a proposed weather system which might put sand in water in roadway of island. Pretty good stay, but think that management may be too quick to impose quick changes in campground.

Great campground. Beautiful white sand beach that goes on forever. Amazing sunrises & sunsets. Clean restrooms & showers, friendly helpful volunteers & staff. If you want peace & tranquility, this is the place to go. Other than a short period around sunrise & sunset not a biting bug problem in November. Be sure to go to Joe Patti's fresh seafood market for the largest selection of fresh seafood. You can get fresh peeled & deveined shrimp & have them steam it for you. They fill your ice cooler if you take it in to pack what you buy. Prices are the cheapest you will find in the area. Flounders is a great restaurant with outdoor seating around the sand volleyball courts & kids play area. Appetizers are large & delicious. The blue Angels are just across the bay from Fort Pickens at the point. Seeing them fly practicing for shows is thrilling. Highly recommend. Reservations must be made well in advance to get a camp site.

Bathrooms out of order and dirty. We were treated very rudely at check in. Very disappointing!

Campground and facilities were clean and very quiet in the A loop. The beach is a short walk and beautiful! Behind the A loop is a 1/2 mile nature walk which was very interesting. Enjoyed our stay!

It was so beautiful view and amazing sand. Just quiet and comfortably campinground. Also campers are so Friendly to each others. We had a great time but weather was kind of chilly. We will be back next year.

Campground Loop A was great - not sure if any site could be considered bad - some had more shade so depending on time of year those would be better. Bathhouse was always clean - probably gets pretty steamy in there in the summer - was a little on the warm side in April. The fort is a must see - a lot of great history there. Also some shady trails to get some exercise on. We're going back in September.

We were only there for one night as we waited too long to reserve (a month in advance). Unfortunately we only had a two hour window to explore the beach between rains. But that two hours was worth the trip to see the beautiful island and walk the fabulous beach a bit.
