It was very good after a delay due to weather. The notification system for reopening could be improved with email notification to those with reservations.

We enjoyed our first time visit to Fort Pickens Campground. The paved site was nice. I was able to walk to the beach in about 3 minutes. The boardwalk needs some repair but was still much better than walking through the sand and bushes.I used the local shower one night and the hot water did not work. Brrrr!!

Busy campground. Spots fairly close together. Clean. Good for active families with kids.

Loop A is a great section. Loved the proximity to the beach.
It was so beautiful view and amazing sand. Just quiet and comfortably campinground. Also campers are so Friendly to each others. We had a great time but weather was kind of chilly. We will be back next year.
Campground Loop A was great - not sure if any site could be considered bad - some had more shade so depending on time of year those would be better. Bathhouse was always clean - probably gets pretty steamy in there in the summer - was a little on the warm side in April. The fort is a must see - a lot of great history there. Also some shady trails to get some exercise on. We're going back in September.
We were only there for one night as we waited too long to reserve (a month in advance). Unfortunately we only had a two hour window to explore the beach between rains. But that two hours was worth the trip to see the beautiful island and walk the fabulous beach a bit.
This was our first time at Ft. pickins and it will not be our last. The camp grounds were very spacious and clean. The walking trails are great and both beaches (Bay and Gulf side) are awsome and uncrowded. The fort and artillery bunkers are somthing not to be missed. Rangers are very friendly and helpful. If you like old Florida this is the place to enjoy. Reminds me of my childhood growing up by Destin.

Wonderful experience! Everyone was very friendly! I do wish the water at dump had attachment for flush and not a cut hose though. Would definitely recommend!

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
