Our experience at Potwisha was fine overall. The spots had a decent space, theres tables, campfires and box to store your food bearproof. The restrooms could be cleaner. There were no rangers or anybody at the kiosk all day long. Theres a dump station just across the street which is really convenient considering we were on an RV.The only thing we wouldve preferred to know in advance is the fact that vehicles over 24 ft are not recommended beyond potwisha; which means that if you are on a big RV just like we were, you cannot reach Sequoia main attractions ( general Sherman tree ).We found out this when we arrived there, so there wasnt much left to do. Another thing is that we didnt have cellphone reception (which is understandable, but we arrived almost at night and were a little bit lost on what to do about the size of the vehicle situation).So remember if you are coming here on a big vehicle dont enter by the south entrance as we did.

Pretty chilly and vibe place. I recommend to take 180 road and go all the way around to Fresno, to see many beautiful places on the way.

I thought this campground was very charming and it was a great location. At the bottom of the mountain the weather was great. The ground squirls were hilarious and I even saw a buck when I woke up in the morning. The bathrooms are clean and there are flushing toilets but there is no shower also some of the paths leading to a bathroom run straight through some of the sites. You can go to another campground to take a shower which is nice but this is the reason this campground is not a full 5 stars.

I'll come back.

Great experience camping at this campground. Restrooms were clean and campground was well maintained. Rangers visited multiple times in the day to clean and check the campgrounds. Our campsite was level and close to the river.

Beautiful campground, we loved our spot. The deer came through every morning, which was lovely. It is great that you can do the Marble Falls trail on foot form here too. Bathrooms very clean. Highly recommend this campground.

Great campground for a mid to late fall trip! Flush toilets were clean. Campsite 21 was a great size, with plenty of room for kids to play! We will be back!

The overall experience at Potwisha Campsite was incredibly relaxing and peaceful. The primary qualities that stand out are how exceptionally clean the grounds were maintained and the wonderfully quiet atmosphere. It truly provided the tranquil escape we were hoping for.However, our arrival was unfortunately marred by a significant reservation issue. When we arrived at our designated, reserved site, there were non-reserved individuals actively attempting to occupy it. This created an awkward and stressful conflict right at the beginning of our stay. While the situation was eventually resolved, it highlights a need for better communication or management regarding reserved plots to ensure guests who have booked ahead can access their paid-for site without confrontation.Despite the initial hassle, the quality of the actual campsiteits cleanliness and quietwould make us consider returning, provided the reservation process is more securely enforced in the future.

We had a great spot and the Restrooms were close and clean!

Nice campground. Some of the sites wold be a little tricky for a camper van or car camping, so make sure to check them out before you pick. This is also up/down a very curvy, steep road from the rest of Sequoia so keep that in mind!

Beautiful place. Convenient to southern end of park.

Heard 3 different species of owls calling during the night. In the morning 6 mule deer walked through.

Very good tent camping everywhere. No showers but clean bathrooms with flush toilets. High bear activity in the area so just be clean.
@BenjaminS87598 · Camped on Oct 12, 2025
Lovely campground with flush toilets and bear boxes. The boxes are great, big enough to fit a medium sized yeti. Easy drive up to the Sherman tree along generals highway. The trail heat at the campground has a nice rest home for the kiddos with waterfalls and a longer more strenuous one with numerous switchbacks and lots of elevation gain for more experienced hikers.

All out leveling blocks couldnt make #5 spot level. Brush and trees all needed serious trimming. The bathrooms were clean with normal flushing toilets though.

Tiny spot, very little space for a tent.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
