All out leveling blocks couldnt make #5 spot level. Brush and trees all needed serious trimming. The bathrooms were clean with normal flushing toilets though.

We loved our stay at Potwisha. It was rustic, with basic amenities- but was exactly what the area deserved. The walk and swim down to the river over the swinging bridge was something we will never forget

Campground was way too noisy - lots of partiers with loud dance music and kids running around screaming at midnight. Plus someone had peed on our parking pad so our site smelled of urine.

Clean campground and clean restrooms I reserved the spot number 5 is next to the hills and we not even spent one night because we found a Big rattlesnake and ended up getting back to our house

When I got there someone was already in my site. There is no cell signal but if you get there and decide you want to stay longer there are pay phones and a toll free number posted so you can reserve a space. As for my experience, I went to see if there was someone I could call to find out what was going on. I couldnt find the person. Just a vehicle and a tent. As I was walking back from the information board I talked to a couple along the way and they had the same problem. Their site was much bigger so they decided to share. I found the guy and told him I had reserved the spot. He said hed move, but it was pretty clear he knew it wasnt his site. Maybe hes living out there? I got there late so it might be a good idea to get there when someone might be around to help if you find someone has taken over your site. I also wouldnt feel comfortable leaving things unattended. The site itself was nice. Id rate it higher if I didnt have to go through the ordeal of kicking someone out of the space.

Great basic campground. Our tent spot was nice and leveled, pretty private and we had our own picnictable and bearlocker. There were clean restrooms (no showers). It is a bit of a drive to see the giants forest, but not to bad. Across the street you can sit by the Kaweah river, which is beautiful!

Beautiful area, but the mosquitos were relentless. I'm sure it was due to the water duck that has miles of stagnant water right next it. During the day was nice, even found a few nice water trails to wet our feet, but at night we became the target for the mosquitos and three different types of bug spray where no match for them. Thankfully we had a dinning net to sit in at night, but still made it very difficult when leaving the net. Also, some of the sites are too close together, I would avoid site #5, unless you also reserve the one right next to it as you'll be sharing most of the area anyway.

Potwisha campground in Sequoia is located within 5 miles from entrance with plenty of trees and a river flowing close by. Campground has Bathrooms with flush toilets but no shower. The park was closed beyond campground due to heavy snow but there are plenty of campsites and multiple bathroom facilities which are clean with sink and flush toilets. Some campsites are not level but well lay out. I would definitely go back to stay at this campsites as we couldn’t complete our visit to Sequoia and Kings Canyon

10/10, gas, fire, awesome, raw, dope, sick, super chill. Expensive for not having showers tbh but still sweet.

We originally reserved 2 nights at Lodgepole and 1 night at Potwisha but becuz the weather was going to drop to the 30s at night we stayed at Potwisha all three nights. The camp sites are more spread out than at Lodgepole. The bathrooms are clean, too. We like this campground as its close to the entrance to the park and Three Rivers is nearby, too. The Suspension Bridge over the river is an easy walk just across the Generals Highway, too. This time we focused primarily on the Lodgepole area with a must-do walk to pay our respects to General Sherman, a stop at the visitor center, a loop trail near there & a hike at Crescent Meadow. We also stopped at the Lodge and Hospital Rock on the way back. All these places are a convenient drive from Potwisha.

It was hot (105 F), only one bathroom stall for the entire site, no showers, the individual sites were not level (or even close to level) and it was a 45 minute drive to the giant trees.

Stayed mid February for 4 nights. Brought my own shower/privacy tent. Hardly anyone was there and I had a fantastic time. I wish I was back there in spot number 5

Although a winter weather warning was in effect, the campfire ban remained in effect. Therefore I did not go.The NPS would not allow me to cancel my reservations, therefore the sites sat reserved and unused.I'm not even mad that I was not refunded, but I even though I called to cancel (after not succeeding on Recreation.gov) and NPS was of no help!I have a hard time understanding how there is both conditions exist (winter weather and fire ban), but am even more perplexed that NPS would not cancel my reservation. Poor form.

I stayed at Potwisha for two nights in the beginning of November, and it was awesome! Due to COVID, campsites are not first come, first serve and need to be reserved on recreation.gov. The campsites available are clean and quiet. There is very, very limited cell service in the park, which I think is a great opportunity to unplug and connect with nature! If you need snow chains, there are gas stations close by that offer rentals. Snow chains were required while I was visiting. I spent one day visiting the General Sherman tree, did the Moro Rock hike and explored the Big Trees Trail. The road to Kings Canyon was closed as of beginning of November. Enjoy your visit! Sequoia National Park is beautiful.
