Our experience at Potwisha was fine overall. The spots had a decent space, theres tables, campfires and box to store your food bearproof. The restrooms could be cleaner. There were no rangers or anybody at the kiosk all day long. Theres a dump station just across the street which is really convenient considering we were on an RV.The only thing we wouldve preferred to know in advance is the fact that vehicles over 24 ft are not recommended beyond potwisha; which means that if you are on a big RV just like we were, you cannot reach Sequoia main attractions ( general Sherman tree ).We found out this when we arrived there, so there wasnt much left to do. Another thing is that we didnt have cellphone reception (which is understandable, but we arrived almost at night and were a little bit lost on what to do about the size of the vehicle situation). So remember if you are coming here on a big vehicle dont enter by the south entrance as we did.

The site was good , bathrooms were clean with running water which is a plus. The only problem was that there was no host on site and the were people right next to us with a bunch of lights on and making a lot of noise until 3am. Beware there are lots of wasps we had to eat inside of our car

Nice campground, would be great if there was WIFI. Lots of wildlife in the campground. It was quiet for the most part, and people were very respectful of each other. We saw fat squirrels, woodpeckers, turkeys, deer, and a bear. Beautiful starry skies at night, the sound of the river, and owls. It was a very clean place. Clean restrooms but no showers. Highly recommended.

Great spot. Pretty large campsite with some shade. Near restrooms and each one had 2 stalls. Didnt have to share parking and our car was covered by a giant tree. Great views all around.

The campsite is decently maintained, close to the river for cooling down and only 30 minutes drive to the giant sequoias. However, many "locals" seem to go to this campground to relax and party. Some groups were playing loud music throughout the day and had lots of lights and lanterns that made star gazing impossible. One group near me was up till 2 a.m. drinking and talking. I think the rangers/hosts should do a better job monitoring. Overall I still had a decent experience.

Great time at Potwisha Campground, friendly welcome from the team, 30min drive to the Giant Forest, nice day-hikes nearby, and it felt like spring in February !

The weather at low elevation was mild. The bathrooms were easily accessed and very clean. Drinking water was readily available and the stars at night were fantastic. We made use of the firepit both nights. We spoke with the campground host on numerous occasions; he was very kind and helpful. I'll definitely camp here again in the future.

There is no monitoring of the campsite rules and we got stuck with 7-8 campsites and 30-40 people blasting music and partying until 1am.

Bathrooms were decent. Sucked that you can't have a camp fire here but with how dry it was it makes sense. Excellent view of the night sky!

Potwisha was a great campground to stay in! It was clean and beautiful with the proper amount of amenities. Being in the foothills, it is typically much warmer at night than many of the campgrounds further into the park, so we slept the first leg of our trip there with our young children.
