Beautiful campground, we loved our spot. The deer came through every morning, which was lovely. It is great that you can do the Marble Falls trail on foot form here too. Bathrooms very clean. Highly recommend this campground.

Nice, flat site with plenty of shade. The parking spot has a slight angle. Its the closest campsite to the entry road but there wasnt bothersome levels of road noise while we were there.

Stayed at this site around Mid-April. Nice and shaded campsite. It was clean and had plenty of room for our 9x12 Coleman 10 person tent under some trees. Spots were overall quite flat. We saw a deer next to our tent and a few more while taking a walk to the restroom. The site was farther from the restroom and washing dish area than I expected. Luckily I had a wagon for my dishes to put them in. Camp host were super friendly and on site. The site is right by the entrance so there is a little road noise but nothing crazy. You will hear a car pass by every now and then but also hear the nearby river so it kind of muffles it. Also, see some cars but not a whole lot come in and go out and is pretty normal at this site. Overall, the people were respectful of others. There was trash/recycling dumpsters pretty close to this site but not close to the point where you can see it so that's convenient. We felt safe leaving our stuff in the tents and zipping them up and go explore the nearby Sequoia National Park. Even left our camping chairs out and in the open for the 3 nights stay and no issues. Hard to secure a spot but worth it if you can snag this site.

Very nice in Winter, one of my favorites.

Campsite 23 was quite nice. Until the smell. The people that stayed there the night before had relieved themselves only about 10 feet from the firepit. They did not bother to even bury it. Just left it there with toilet paper. Disgusting. Meanwhile, a bathroom is 150 feet away. Also, a group was running a generator. While I believe this is allowed at certain times, it sure does ruin the whole point of being in a national park. Why is this allowed at all? There was no campsite host, so no one with whom to raise these issues.

Very beautiful campground. We stayed in mid March (Late Winter) and the weather was a little chilly at night (about 46 degrees) but not nearly as bad as we expected. We were expecting lows in the 30's and prepared as such. We had good insulation from the ground and on top of us and recommend you do the same if staying this time of year. Daytime temperatures were ideal. The restrooms were clean and the roads were paved well. No Showers. The camp host came by to say hi every morning and we had the opportunity to ask any questions that we had. Our campsite ended up being home to a Oak Titmouse couple (birds) who were building their nest in the tree closest to our campsite and a Turkey who we took to calling Turk who was looking for a hen. It was great to see local wildlife without even needing to leave the campsite. The Marble Falls Trail is at the top of the camp ground and took us about 6-7 hours in total. We took lots of breaks and the trail was so worth it but we were very excited to get back and put our feet up by the end of it. Overall, I think my biggest takeaway is to go early in the season! It was already warming up and I could see the area getting to warm in summer / fall. Late winter / Early spring is the time to go.

a bit out of the way with General's Highway closure from the 2023 snow, but less traffic makes it quieter, despite noise from river. Secluded, quiet, and nice.

Watch out for the mosquitoes!!

Very hot, very dry, very open. This is very far removed from the sequoia groves in the rest of the park, and it is hard on your car to make the drive many times. Recommend only staying in a night on the way in or the way out.

Beautiful campground. Clean facilities, lovely little stream nearby, and lots of wildlife - especially turkey and deer.

The National Park must of had some restructuring with crime prevention of some sort. I was greeted daily by what came off as homeland protection instead of rangers. Female officers who were impersonating Clint Eastwood or something in Last Shift. They walk over or drive over rather threatening with guns at their sides and bullet proof vests like they are getting ready for a shoot out or something, always pulling up with lights on and always more than 1 SUV. They didnt complain about my dogs this trip but made sure to make the outing feel hostile. What happened to the days of nature walks, amphitheatre presentations and friendly rangers. Heck even the Maintenance guy was an old creep, probably drove around the campsite 20x before and after he cleaned the restrooms,my daughter noticed him 1st because of our practice where she is supposed to be aware of her surroundings that including people, she pointed him out and told me everytime he drove by he was leering...sure enough I caught him next trip around...this isn't to mention he is a thief...he tried to take my parents camping chair and ladder for their rig because it was the only thing in the site because they had went down to the store...how lane the staff was stealing. I need to follow this up with an actual complaint to management. Thanks for ruining our summer outings Sequoia National Park staff.

The campsite ranger harassed my party the entire stay...even moved a party from the other side of camp to right next to my camp...covid was supposed to have distancing rules that's why when reservations opened I couldn't get that spot because it was blocked from reserving so I picked the spot next to it which is the spot I ended up camping inn only for the ranger to allow that other group to move right inn next to us...then proceeded to harass me about my dogs which stayed in my pretty big tent the entire trip only to find numerous big dogs off leash at the river...felt singled out

We had a 10 day road trip in California and Potwisha Campground was easily our favourite stopover. Peaceful, absolutely packed with wildlife - a herd of deer walked across our site one morning - and basic enough to feel wild but with all you need to take care of yourself. The absolute bonus for us was the location, we didn't know beforehand but just down the river, across the road from the campground, is the most fantastic little riverside walk up to a picturesque suspension bridge and little pool with natural water slide. (We visited in November and took a dip, it was freezing but safe - I expect it is not recommended at other times of year!) That day was idyllic and one of our favourite family memories of our holiday.

Beautiful park, clean bathrooms, and amazing views when you get to the trees and rock. Everything is close weather you want to see the trees and rock or go shopping in the town. Make sure to visit the river behind the camping grounds.

Loved that you could walk and access the amazing trail to the waterfalls from the campground. The spaces are very generous and ours had access to river too. The ranger said the falls and river were low but they were still amazing in early October. Also they were not crowded at all- maybe saw total of 20-30 people both out and back. - in a National Park!!!! We were alone at one point sitting next to the waterfalls after a 4 mile one way up trail. That was magical.
