Amazing experience to spend the night on the desert. The campground was very nice and clean. The good thing is that its located maybe 10 minutes drive from the town so you can easily get some water or food if you need

Sites are useless. Parking pads are not even close to level, with tables and fire rings far from vehicle parking. Due to the rocks and sites being on top of each other, the noise level is insanely high. Not worth the trip.

I got locked in the bathroom from the inside and a ranger saved me. 5/5 stars for the ranger. It was over 95 degrees outside (around noon time) and the inside was hotter. Had he not been passing by and heard me banging on the doors, it would've been a dangerous situation for me.

Great campground

Meh campground wise our site was really close to the other campsites. It got too hot during the day and we had to leave.

We always enjoy Indian Cove in JT. Not only do you get the JT experience but you technically don't have to enter the park and pay the entrance fee. And it's <10 minutes from a mini-mart for a beer/ice run.The weather this Memorial weekend was outstanding. A high of 80 deg. which we've never experienced in past years. Usually expect 90+ on that weekend. Only issue we had this year was that the fire pit was pretty full of ash. Thankfully I always bring my trusty shovel and just scooped a bunch out.Other than that it was a wonderful experience once again.Thanks!

We enjoyed a quiet two night (Sun-Tue) stay in The Cove. Site 25 worked well because the relatively long and flat parking space accommodated our Sprinter perfectly. We will definitely return next fall.

Great campground in nature, we all loved it!

I wanted to love this campground, but there isnt a host and youre on your own entirely there. Normally fine, but its accessed from the highway, not passing a park entrance station, so anyone can go in. Squatters abound. Hopefully you have a better experience than I did; its a crapshoot as to who shows up. One guy was blasting music with bass so loud it was ricocheting off of the rocks. I was able to find a spot of cell service and change sites, thankfully (because nobody was around to help, and I didnt feel safe asking him a second time to turn it down!). The back up spot was quiet at first, and then neighbors there started playing music and letting their dogs bark and howl. Ugh. At least they werent quite as loud as the guy before. I bailed on my second nightthis is my least favorite kind of camping, and its not relaxing. I wish there was a host.

Long drive from NorCalbut, it was worth the driveit was very windy the days we visitedit was diffinately different and uniq place to RV/campshort trails worked out perfect for us. Also, the scenic drive through the park, from one end to the other, was greatsome amazing rock formations and how they are stacked.

Indian Cove campground is really beautiful, and spot 074 is right up against some gorgeous rocks. The space itself is much smaller than some others, but it had space for a 4 person tent. The campground was quiet at night, and the star gazing was incredible!

We camp quite a bit and this is really a special place - probably our favorite. The campsite itself backs onto a beautiful rock wall. The campground was quiet and we spent hours at the nearby amphitheatre in silence with no one around and it was serene. We fit our 6 person tent with no issues on the campsite. Beautiful spot.

Great camping experience! Perfect large site with a lot of room to explore. Tucked away from other sites! We will be back!

Beautiful rock formations. Definitely check campsite lengths if trailering or RVing. Try not to camp to close to vault toilets. Can be smelly from the venting, but insides are kept clean.

Big campsite, really peaceful and quiet at night

This site has no cell coverage. Toilet smelled. Noisy.
@AndrewP1911421 · Camped on Apr 16, 2025 at Campsite #26
Great campground. Super easy access, close to in-town amenities. Not in the heart of the park, but still a great camp setting
@CharlotteB4F55 · Camped on Apr 16, 2025 at Campsite #36
Pros: A nice cozy spot with a beautiful view. Plenty of space for a 4 person tent.Con: The bathrooms are close by, which means that when the wind picks up you will occasionally get hit with the smell of doo doo. If you are sensitive to smells like I am, I would maybe pick a site that is farther away from the toilets.
@DeborahB541180 · Camped on Apr 16, 2025 at Campsite #73
Site 73 was lovely. Very sheltered. I was worried about winds, but they weren't a problem. Two small tents fit at either side of the site. Unfortunately prior campers had urinated in some of the corners. This made for some unpleasant odors which limited tent placement but not general use of the site. Hopefully the smells will dissipate before you camp. We enjoyed the 49 Palms Oasis hike and the stroll out to the Wall Street stamp.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
