Pros: A nice cozy spot with a beautiful view. Plenty of space for a 4 person tent.Con: The bathrooms are close by, which means that when the wind picks up you will occasionally get hit with the smell of doo doo. If you are sensitive to smells like I am, I would maybe pick a site that is farther away from the toilets.

This is a beautiful campground with sites nestled in the boulders and rocks. Our campsite was a little way from our parking spot. We didnt realize that it was a park and walk. It all worked out and was worth it to spend our first night under the stars.

Amazing setting, we rock climbed, hiked around the campground and kids loved scrambling on the rocks. Our original campsite was occupied when we arrived, but the camp host was very accommodating and found us an even better campsite for the 2 nights we spent there.

Campgrounds were spectacular locations. Things are hurting with staffing at the entrance gates and maintenance of facilities....
@JenniferG44963 · Camped on Apr 8, 2025 at Campsite #53
This is a gorgeous campground that is easily accessible from outside of the park. Its a short drive to get cell phone service or to run to the grocery store. Site 53 isnt close to any neighbors and has amazing views. This site also didnt have as much wind as the other site where I stayed, site 61. The only problem I encountered at this site was that people kept driving or walking by and taking pictures of me and my campsite because of the beautiful view behind us.
@JenniferG44963 · Camped on Apr 7, 2025 at Campsite #61
Site 61 is a beautiful campsite with a large flat area for tents. There is no shade, so bring a canopy or have AC in your RV. There isnt a driveway, so you park parallel to the road. It was already hot, in the mid 80s in early April. This site seems to be in a wind tunnel in evening/night, so I had to take down my canopy when I wasnt using it for sun. Vault toilets smell terrible but theyre clean and well-stocked with toilet paper. Park rangers come by periodically. There are no neighbors on either side, just one across the road. Unfortunately those neighbors were quite loud all evening. I was thankful they werent right next to me.

We knew our campsite #31 was a shared parking space with #30. However the 50 yard hike to our area was unexpected. We did get our share of steps in that day carrying our goods to site #31. Our next visit well make sure we have our own parking with close-by table and fire pit. Restrooms were clean, great nature trail and this campsite did provide privacy from adjacent sites.
@PaulT7740903 · Camped on Apr 7, 2025 at Campsite #52
The site 052 easily fit our 24 travel trailer unhitched from 20 truck so they could be parked on the gravel pad slightly overlapping but off the loop road. Expect to use the backside (drivers side) of your camper for shade in the afternoon if you are enjoying the outside. Beautiful views of the rocks from the site! No cell service using AT&T. Get water at check in entering main road as there is none in campground. Great place!

Great location away from the crowds.
@EmilyC1289829 · Camped on Apr 1, 2025 at Campsite #42
Stunning views at this campground, was very cold at night but had a great stay. Would definitely return, toilets were the cleanest out of the sites weve visited.

Such a beautiful campsite in the rock formations! The stars were amazing and I loved this spot!
@SarahIB4487110 · Camped on Apr 1, 2025 at Campsite #4
Bouldering wonderland. Wind can be daunting but not as bad as jumbo rocks. Even the vault toilets cant take a star away from this true national treasure.

Super far from bathrooms
@JohnB8383631 · Camped on Mar 28, 2025 at Campsite #58
Beautiful scenery with the large rock formations. Each site we had feelt private and not too close to our neighbors.
@MichaelaB8EF11 · Camped on Mar 27, 2025 at Campsite #15
Absolutely gorgeous campground. It's very nice that it's so close to 29 Palms and so many good hikes. The bathrooms were always clean and full of toilet paper, all of the sites seemed very clean as well.
@RichW7634610 · Camped on Mar 27, 2025 at Campsite #74
Went camping with my 11 year old and 7 year old. They met other kids and neighboring camps and had the best time climbing rocks and discovers caves and playing tag. Hanging out at the camp was enough adventure for two days. We did go on a couple of hikes in the main part of the park. Discovered the North Entrance which is great because it can take a while to drive from Indian Cove to the West Entrance. Bring plenty of sunscreen, we got a bit of sun on the first day even though it didn't feel all that hot and sunny. Can't wait to come back next year.

Beautiful, quiet campground with well spaced sites and plenty of rocks to explore and climb.
@RobbieHB5ADE1B · Camped on Mar 25, 2025 at Campsite #3
Awesome site and awesome campground. Would definitely recommend. More space and arguably more to explore here than Jumbo Rocks Campground. This particular site has a lot of space and backs right up to some places to explore. Only downfall is that its close to the entrance so you do get some traffic with latecomers/early risers
@DianeS9755786 · Camped on Mar 24, 2025 at Campsite #88
As always, the setting of the campground is stunning. There was a lot of happy noise in the evening but people were very respectful of quiet hours. Our site was spacious but a little close to neighbors. My only complaint is the road is in bad condition!
@JessicaT451655 · Camped on Mar 23, 2025 at Campsite #5
Really cool campground. Lots of rocks for the kids to climb around on. Amazing views of the night sky. Campground is between both park entrances so easy drive to get inside in the park or go to a visitor center. Only downside is no running water for filling water bottles, cooking, or showering. Which is pretty minor.
@McKenzieB1648F · Camped on Mar 23, 2025 at Campsite #12
We loved site 12. Perfect for our kids. They climbed on the rocks directly at the site for hours.
@CoryGEF4C2FF7C · Camped on Mar 21, 2025 at Campsite #30
Beautiful park and very convenient camp ground. NPS rangers are rare out there these days so keep that in mind when considering activities and sufficient preparation to be out in this wilderness. Hike safe and enjoy!
@SelimM9B9F4035 · Camped on Mar 20, 2025 at Campsite #95
Great campground with lots of privacy. The short but very informative nature trail nearby is a must see. Lots of interesting rock formations and nature to explore in the area.
@JeanieO8744140 · Camped on Mar 18, 2025 at Campsite #92
Perfect private spot.
@EricE762939232 · Camped on Mar 17, 2025 at Campsite #26
Great campground. Does not have water, but does have pit bathrooms. Lots of room. Nice that it is a little distant from other campsites.

We track all the sites so you don't have to.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
