Beautiful location among big boulders. Out site was nestled in a cozy corner. Unfortunately there was a loud group we could hear till late at night and the kids from another group liked to climb and be loud from the boulders next to our site.

My partner and I stayed at site #49 for one night on a whim (we were in Redlands for a wedding) and it was so lovely: the campfire reflecting off the rocks around us, the tent sheltered from the wind, the stars above.... Definitely coming back.

Fun campground. Very full, large groups, lots of kids when we were there. Effective parent control would be nice. Beautiful setting. Very wind when we set up but it settled down.

When I got to the campground, I realized I picked a site for 1 car only but 2 cars would be present. I was able to easily change my site number to another one available using the Recreation.gov app. The internet service in the area of the campground is limited (I have TMobile) but I was able to get service at the picnic day-use area and make the change to accommodate our party.

Went on the full moon and booked very last minute. The sites themselves were comfortable and spacious and the bathroom was well kept. Even the immediate area around our site was beautiful and felt far from town even though we were just a few minutes drive. Already excited to go back!

Spot 49 has neighbors to both sides. 48 is so close we could hear them talk. Just an fyi if you want more privacy. The spot is for 2 cars but we took a Tahoe and I’m not sure how 2 SUVS would fit and be able to open doors etc. There was a little shade, but that will change with month visiting. Def suggest taking pop up canopy for shade. We slept in our car, but I do believe that a 4 person tent would fit comfortably. There is also additional space for a 2 person tent if you get creative with setting up. The toilet is max 30 steps away with PLENTY of tp and it was clean. Every spot has beautiful views.

This was an incredible campground for the site, the views, the surroundings. A bit remote from the rest of the easily accessible park but we really enjoyed it. Beautiful skies for stargazing, rocks to climb, all good things. You do get morning and later afternoon shade here if you’re near the taller rocks.
Pit toilets were clean. Camp host is located outside the main campground, but was friendly and helpful when we stopped there to fill water.

Pros: The campground was beautiful & bathrooms were on good shape. Site 49 is the corner site in a little loop, it's a good size and surrounded by large boulders to climb. Cons: Site 49 is extremely close to 48. The fire pits are about 15ft apart, so no privacy at all. Unfortunately, the people in that site had a huge party Thanksgiving weekend with 20 people & 10 cars. We had to drive to the other park entrance to find a ranger. One eventually showed up & had them move the cars but didn't do anything to stop the drunken party.

We visited all the campgrounds in Joshua Tree NP, and thought Indian Cove had the best sites. Views were exceptional and spacing between sites very nice. H2O at the ranger station is a big plus!

The campground was beautiful away from tourists. Had everything we needed. The cons: very close to the next site 48 and they had a full size SUV, pull trailer and a reg trailer. Too much for the size of their camp and started taking over ours. The smell of the bathroom was horrible anytime we had a little gust of wind. I would stay here again but choose a different site that is further away from others, being to close takes away from the experience.

I love the setting among the boulders and different personalities of the campsites. We hiked over to the nature trail at the west end of the campground and enjoyed learning about desert plant life in the area. This is a fun destination and is spread out enough that it never feels crowded. There is considerable rock climbing activity, which can be interesting to watch.

Beautiful location, perfect weather, could have asked for a better camping trip. The rocks were so fun for us to climb around. Only downside, the extremely poor paved roads were super rough.

Indian Cove is my favorite campground in Joshua Tree, the sites are mostly by the giant boulders and allow two cars. The site I used is large enough for 3-4 small tents or 2 large tents. The restroom was clean and all my neighbors were quiet and respectful.

Campground was great, but requiring reservations at a park which has no cell service is ridiculous since you have to drive all the way across a huge park and leave it to make a reservation.

Good spot, fire pit is next to a Boulder wall that you can sit at to enjoy the fire.
Exposure to morning sun, but has shade in evening as sun sets.
