This is the most stunning campground in the park. It also is located off the main loop so, though large, it tends to be quieter in terms of visitation. Many of the sites are up against the rocks so your kids can climb. Our site was scenic and close to the restroom which was well maintained.

Really enjoyed our stay at Indian Cove campground. It was very well maintained and the nature trail was easy to follow with well marked paths and signs. Camping among the huge rocks was truely breathtaking.

Stunning and magical campground. Easy to find and well spaced out so you have a fair amount of privacy. The location is amazing and I was in awe of the boulders and the tranquillity.

The petroglyphs are amazing! This is a beautiful, remote area with spiritual vibes. The spacious campground has very clean pit toilets. We saw a lot of wildlife!

Host was very accommodating when we asked to change site. Recent rains had flooded our original site. Spectacular scenery..Nature trail is good and you can hike just about anywhere. Looking forward to coming back.

I stayed in spot 48. The campsite overall was AMAZING with incredible views and situated amongst the massive boulders. My only complaint was how close the neighbors were on both sides. It was like we were all sharing one spot instead of three individual spots.

Loved our stay at Indian Cove Campground. The site was sheltered from the wind, private, just perfect for our sprinter van. We enjoyed the hikes nearby, the beautiful rocks that surrounded the campground and the serene beauty. We will definitely come back to this site.

Seems like the park services are way under staffed. I never saw a single campground representative to check me in, tell me rules or anything. Drove to my site and stayed my time. The terrain is beautiful and 29 palms has anything you need. The porta John’s we’re pretty nasty doesn't seem like they are maintained. To their defense it was high 90s all week, that normal for JTNP.

Excellent facilities (except lacking water). Terrific scenery. Good climbing. Privacy is lacking due to close proximity of campsites.

Stayed in site 48. Beautiful spot that fit our 20 ft travel trailer. The weather in February was cold and windy, but we had a great time exploring the park anyway.

Campground is great. Stayed in site 48 with a 20' travel trailer. Was a little tight to park with the F150 because it's on a curve. The site was cool with the fire pit against the rocks. No water at the campground, have to bring your own. Would stay again for sure.

Upon arrival ~ 3:00 at Indian cove our reserved space was occupied by an airstream trailer with the owners nowhere to be found. Since there is no cell reception at Indian Cove (not Rec fault) we drove down to the highway to contact the support number on my reservation where you could only leave a voice mail message which we did (no call back). We also called the ranger number and again only got a VM option. We then went to the visitor center who said they couldn't help either and directed us to the main gate entrance. After much discussion with staff at the main gate we were ultimately assigned an "overflow" space at Indian Cove. The overflow space was inferior to my reserved space, took over 3 hours to sort out, and setting up in the dark was not great. The next day about 2:00 (nearly 24 hours later) a park ranger returned our call...he was very apologetic but wow really... There appears to be no support for campers with reservations. I feel like I should get a refund for being assigned an inferior "overflow" space and frankly the hassle of driiving all over over JT to find some support.

Indian Cove is a great place to go for peace and quiet and a ton of fun on the boulders.

Sites are tidy and clean. Great atmosphere tucked in next to the rocks. Our site (048) was quite close to neighbors on both sides, such that noise was a small issue, but most sites looked better spread out than those on that loop.

It was a really nice experience ppl were very respectful. The bathroom were our camp was at was pretty clean compared to our sites. I only saw the ranger twice.

Wonderful campground! Each campsite is roomy with rock formations providing partial privacy and a fantastic background for adventures and nightime campfires. The outhouses are well maintained and trash recepticles are accessible and allow for recycling. Although Indian Cove campground is isolated from the loop road that passes through the center of the national park, climbers and scramblers can easily spend days exploring the nearby formations. And there is virtuallly no vehicle traffic within miles of the campground so it is quiet and safe.

I very much enjoyed this unique campground. The campsites are mostly up against the beautiful rock formations making night time with campfire very cool with the fire light reflecting off the boulders. The only drawback is the lack of any natural screening between campsites which are very close together.

This was our first actual camping trip to Joshua Tree (we did a day trip a few years back). The campground and our site were very nice though it was a little snug getting our travel trailer into the site. The campground was well maintained and we really enjoyed being in the park with access to all the trails all around us. We did visit one of the park visitor centers and found it informative and filled with interesting souvenirs.
