Indian Cove campground was so much better than anticipated. Beautiful area, unique campsites, great rock climbing and nature trail hike.

This campground is in a great location! Bathrooms are clean! would be nice to have water available without having to drive to get it! The roads are in dire need of repair!

As always, the setting of the campground is stunning. There was a lot of happy noise in the evening but people were very respectful of quiet hours. Our site was spacious but a little close to neighbors. My only complaint is the road is in bad condition!

Busy campground. Had site 88 in the back loop which was next to a large loud group and many day-use hikers. 1 vault toilet for many people due to large group. Campground is located closely to Amboy Road, surrounding area was not the nicest... much different from staying within other national parks. Left 2 days early due to feeling uncomfortable. Host was somewhat hard to locate but kind in person. No restrooms noted on JT park map, noticed an abundance of toilet paper on popular hikes. Cholla Garden was closed for repair.

Campground is awesome and beautiful; however, our neighbor was not. We had campsites 87 and 88 for four nights. First two nights neighbors in 89 were fine, plenty of space between us and their two cars parked in the designated driveway. They departed after two nights. We came back after an all day hike the next day to find the new tenants of 89 had parked their huge truck and camper 3 feet from our vehicle in 88, they were clearly far behind their parking space that the previous tenants used. We asked nicely if he could please move up into his designated parking space and he flatly refused, not in the least friendly nor apologetic. So we did not pursue the issue nor report to a park ranger for fear of retaliation. Also, their other vehicle was a camper van parked fully into the campsite not even near the parking area, space 89 specifically states "Do not drive into the campsite." While aware of the shortage of park rangers, I understand it might not be feasible to "patrol" the campsite daily. (We have visited other national parks in recent months where the campgrounds are patrolled by wonderful rangers, this made the stay so very pleasant as nobody was out of line. ) Subsequently, we moved our vehicles as far as possible into space 87 for the remaining two nights. We would greatly appreciate if the beautiful Indian Cove campers could be advised by rangers if they are out of line and outside of their designated parking areas. Otherwise our visit to Joshua Tree was very pleasant. Thank you!

This is a very nice campground to camp and the surroundings are beautiful. I just cant understand why theres no water. Its not far from the town so to bring water in wouldve made this five star.

Gorgeous vistas! Campsite was clean and although they are densely packed together, youre still out in this natural beauty that makes the space expand. Pit toilets were well stocked

Beautiful location with camp sites spaced apart and nestled in the rocks with beautiful views. Be aware there is no dump station at this location. You will find one at Black rock campground.

Great site at the end of the loop and right near the nature trail! It fit our 4-person tent fine, nice view of the rocks and open nature from our tent, with no other sites in view looking out from the end of the campground loop. Bathroom in easy walking distance but not so close it is distracting. Recommended.

The neighbors a few down from us were obnoxiously loud the entire time they were there. They were playing loud music and talking loudly the whole time. I have done a lot of camping in my life, but I have never encountered such a loud group. They took up several sites and seemed to have a frat party with swearing, drinking, music, and yelling. Also, we camped at Joshua Tree to look at the stars as my son is very into astronomy. The campers on the other side of us had a very bright LED lantern which caused light pollution. However, we were able to work around that by moving to areas where their light was blocked. It may be helpful to have reminders to other campers to respect the quiet of the parks and to beware of light pollution in a dark sky area. The campsite itself was beautiful and clean. I was hoping a ranger would come by to check in so that we could complain about the loud neighbors, but we never saw one.

The bathrooms were the cleanest of any bathrooms in the park. The views were outstanding and the sunrises were gorgeous. Our 17 ft trailer fit plenty fine in Site 088, and other than needing some creative leveling, we were also able to squeeze our tow vehicle (4-door truck) tight and next to it thanks to some really understanding and polite neighbors. This site says only room for 1 vehicle, and a trailer DOES count as 1 vehicle. The recommended parking for the truck (2nd vehicle) was not where I was told I could find it, so I was very pleased we could make it work and get along great with our neighbors. The rocks are amazing and climbing them was all we wanted to do. I highly recommend this campground, and this campsite. There is a small local market/liquor store at the end of the road right off the busy main highway road that had everything we needed like ice, drinks, snacks, etc for quick grabs without running into town.

We stayed Jan 25 2022 for 2 nights. It was a wonderful place with amazing rock formations. The sites themselves are small.

The camp host was wonderful and your Ranger Janet (shes assigned to Black Rock) what a nice person. Sometimes we are lucky to meet wonderful people.Havent been to Indian Cove for about 50 years, as a kid when Joshua Tree was still a Monument...What a trip back in time to some of the best rock formations in So. Calif. If you havent been here or you havent been here in a while, its a must go.Hiked the Boy Scout Trail with my wife and the realization swept over knowing that one day soon my grandson will hike this trail as a Boy Scout and have a life time memory like his grandpa.
