This is a beautiful campground set up against the beautiful rock formations of Joshua Tree.Sites are nicely spaced, and several pit toilets take care of the basic needs. Each site has a fire pit, separate grill, and picnic table. You must bring your own water- there is a filling spout at the ranger station that sits at the entrance, about 2 miles from the campground proper. I would stay there every time I visit J-Tree.

Indian Cove is our favorite campground in The Joshua Tree NP area. We love the giant boulders and the large campsites. Each site is a little different. We have done many hikes in the area, we always choose hikes depending on the season. We save exposed hikes for the winter. Water is available at Indian Cove at the ranger station. Fill all your tanks before you head in to your site.

The camp site was a little smaller than I had anticipated, but was ample space for 2 good sized tents. Restrooms were very clean near our sire, but I can't speak for any others in the camp ground. One thing to note if you are planning on doing a lot within the park, it's quite a long way from Indian cove, there is no road going directly to other areas of the park. 20 min drive minimum get to most "attractions".

A beautiful evening with good friends, between storms.

Gorgeous, gorgeous campground. Site 68 was spacious and fit two tents (large and medium sized). The view was fantastic, and we got to watch rock climbers from our campsite. The toilets were decently clean, especially considering it was Thanksgiving weekend. The only negative is that since this is such a popular campground, you do get very loud groups of people talking and playing music well into the night. If you want a more quiet and intimate experience, definitely try to snag a campsite in one of the smaller campgrounds.

Gorgeous views and incredible rock features at this site. Very quiet, clean, and private feeling. Close to the nature trail. Would definitely come back.

Indian Cove is great. Bring lots of water. Also, the NPS should devote more of their income to staffing the campgrounds. Compared to USFS, the NPS has like half the staffthey work their tails off, but theyre spread thin and really hard to find if you have a question/concern.

first time user of the campground and website. Easy to use and the park ranger I met was really helpful.

Indian Cove is tucked away outside of the National Park. You purchase a pass and it’s good for 7 days so you can go in and out of the park as much as you’d like. Lots of rocks in this area and this location is great if you like to rock climb. Definitely will be coming back.

I would definitely stay in Indian cove again. The campsites are pretty spacious and quiet with absolutely incredible views. You’re also super close to 29 palms.
