Very good spot with ample shade that helps cool off your tent in the afternoon, is close to the Dunes Trail that connects you to the Dunes from the campground, and is situated pretty evenly between two bathrooms. We noticed that spots 11 and 12 are great for groups traveling together. Only downside is that there was an increase in patrol presence, whether that be Rangers or Camp Hosts - we've stayed at this campground several times in the past and have not seen this, just felt odd, almost overbearing. The store clerk was amazing, driving around also but to make sure all guests had what they needed ahead of closing!

Easy to find site, beautiful vistas. Camp store was closed and only a drink vending machine was available. I wish we had booked another night.

This site had a very gorgeous view of the dunes. Shade in the morning and late afternoon. The restrooms were impressively clean, no towels though so bring your own. Fairly easy access to the dunes.This was one of the best campgrounds/campsites of my summer!

This is a well laid out campground that accommodates mixed tent and RV camping. There are plenty of water and flush toilet facilities available. No showers. The sites have a decent amount of shade among the ancient pinon and juniper trees. There are excellent views of the dunes, and many trails are accessible from this campground. Beware of sand (of course), and the winds can be chaotic and strong sometimes. Overall it was a very lovely experience.

I didnt expect washrooms to be that neat. It was really nice to have clean washrooms. Very well maintained national park.

Sand dunes view and almost all day shade. Small but very good camp site.

Nice park and campground with clean bathrooms. Recommend taking an early morning hike to the top of dunes. An overnight stay was worthwhile.

The location is amazing. There were so many stars out. The campground was clean and quiet. Also, the bathrooms were super clean too. I just wish there was somewhere at the campgrounds to take showers.

The specific spot had a great view of the dunes and mountains. Sites are a bit close to each other here, but the view is worth it.

Newer restrooms. Nice dump station with gravity fill potable water. Sites are generally small and close but bushes give some privacy.

Absolutely incredible views. This is a quick 5 minute drive from Oasis restaurant and thr visitor center, with an amazing view of the dunes and mountains, we had a lovely time here!

Small spots with one tent pad. But it was nice. Could see the Dunes and walk to them easily from camp.
@JoAnnA7741178 · Camped on Aug 19, 2025 at Campsite #72
Nice campground. Site was level and had a nice view of the Sand Dunes. Bathroom was clean with flush toilets and a wash sink and potable water outside the bathroom. No showers and no hookups. There was no gate or check in location, which was strange but it looked like maybe the ranger just walked by and checked to see if the sites were occupied? There was also a nice easy trail right off of the campground that you could hike to the sand dunes from the campground. There was also a free dump station. Sites are kind of close together but did have some trees/bushes in between. The sites/parking pads are short, so pay close attention to the size restrictions. At this site, the tent pad, fire ring and picnic table are elevated slightly above and behind the parking pad. Overall a pleasant place.

So gorgeous so out in the middle of nowhere but also worth the travel. Truly and completely a unique outdoor experience.
@RobertL7452920 · Camped on Aug 19, 2025 at Campsite #65
The campsites were not level. Additionally, the website mentions nothing about low hanging tree limbs across the loop. Our camper is high and we snagged the awning on the way out. This was an expensive visit.

We were at site A025. We had a lovely view of the dunes, though our site was pretty exposed to the wind. We knew it had little shade and were prepared for that. On a calm day, this would be a beautiful site! We just happened to get punished by the wind the night we stayed there. Restrooms were clean and we appreciated the availability of fresh water.

The campground was an unexpected gem. Views from many of the sites were beautiful. The bathrooms were well maintained and in good shape. I would highly recommend a stay here.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
