Love this older campground, most sites are too small for the for the mobile home RVers. Less generators and all night party lights!Trail to the overlook that starts at the NE corner of the upper campground look is worth a sunrise or sunset hike.

Always a treat. Caught photos of the snow melting off the dunes. Great campground. The host was fabulous!

Great park. Great campground. Pretty good site. I did not notice the warning in the Site Details that its tight to back in to. With our F150 and a 19' trailer I really did need to go around the loop the wrong way. I didn't get caught on the way in, but the law enforcement ranger caught me on the way out. Just no way to pull out going the "right way". The wrong way is a straight shot. The campground wasn't busy. We had to use a lot of leveling blocks under the jack to get the trailer level. Maybe with a smaller tow vehicle I could have made the corner, but not the full size truck.

Amazing location, right in the heart of the park. Campground is geared towards tent campers, so rvs/trailers should bring leveling blocks and be prepared for no hook ups. The bathrooms were some of the nicest ones I have experienced in a national park. (Sadly no showers)Cant wait to go back!

Great campground with spectacular views of the dunes. Our site, #62, was incredibly off level, which we’ve found is typical for many NP campsites, but we made it work and enjoyed it. The only real downer was that the closest bathroom was shut down for construction and they had porta-potties there, which are always disgusting. Aside from that and the viscous, voracious mosquitoes, it was a great place and we wish we had stayed longer. A head net to keep mosquitoes and gnats out of your face would be a good investment.

Allowing people to arrive well after quiet hours (midnight) needs to be addressed. Inconsiderate campers rolling in late, clanging the bear box, talking loudly with kids running around is incredibly rude and inconsiderate. Close the campground at 10 pm and require late arrivals to wait until morning in the overflow area. Some sites also had more than 2 vehicles and partially blocked the road. The park service needs to do a better job in educating all of the folks new to camping on campground etiquette. This is a growing problem at all national parks including the Great Smoky Mountains NP by us. Enforce the rules!

I wish the bathrooms had soap and an air dryer. Otherwise, everything was good.
