The campground was clean and quiet. We had a beautiful spot with the dunes in our backyard.

The fact is, due to the very cold temperatures, I didn't camp at Great Sand Dunes Natl. Park.

We enjoyed the grounds and our site very much. Although we only drove our loop of sites, most, if not all, seemed pretty well sized and spaced. Restrooms were convenient and very clean. The camp store had all of the basics and added to the kooky vibe. And we appreciated the camp hosts, one of whom proactively reminded a neighbor about the generator hours.

Absolutely loved this campground! Although the spaces can be tight and close together, the other campers were friendly and respectful of each others space. We were at the end of loop 2 with wonderful views of the dunes and mountains. Renovated bathrooms are super clean with heat, lights, and 3 stalls each for the women. We didn't use the new dishwashing sink, but it was clean and convenient as well. This is the quietest campground we have stayed at and although there was a full moon, we could still see lots of stars. We especially liked that there are several hiking trails, including the trail to the dunes, right from the campground so no need to drive anywhere. The camp store was closed, as it was the last week of the season, but it would be welcome any other time. We brought firewood and shared with neighbors who had none. We travel with our two big pups, and there was space to walk them around the loops as well as on the ditch, dune, and dune overlook trails. Our site had shade and sun so was perfect for late October. Will be back and loved the fall beauty and everything we experienced.

Beautifully renovated campground. Flush toilets and dish washing stations were great. Easy walk to the dunes.

Campsite #63 has a wonderful view out onto the dunes field and a fair amount of shade. Decent privacy from neighboring camp sites.

Very nice park. The showers/bathrooms were under construction so there were portapotties.

Great campground. It was just unfortunate the bathrooms were under remodeling.

Watching a baby fawn suckle the mother only 10 feet from tent was awesome. The dunes are great to hike. Next time will get a board to ride the dunes.

Nice campground, lots of trees to provide privacy. Pretty quiet as well - no loud music. We traded sites with our neighbor - he had a 35' motorhome and we only had our car, and our parking area was much deeper than his. This worked out fine. Campground rangers nice and helpful.

Clean campground. Most sites have good shade. We were in site 63 and had an amazing view of the dunes and surrounding mountain range. Able to walk down to the water and dunes from campground (about .5 mile walk) This campground and National Park is a must visit in our opinion. Truly unique and beautiful place.

well maintained n not too crowded, as least in april. not sure why fires were allowed, its smokes up the area limiting star gazing.

Great place to stay. Trail connects to the dunes so you dont have to compete with the crowds a the day use parking lot. Sites are close together but still great sites. Probably obvious but the weekend was packed and all sites were booked. Come Sunday we had the whole loop to ourselves :)
