Loved the campground and the campsite. Lots of trees and there was a dry creek next to our site. But we gave it a four because of the red ants that took over most of the site. Not sure why they were there, but they weren't leaving. Seems fair. They were there first. That left us a small area by the campfire ring, so no camp fires. And the ants didn't bother us, so we were all good. Oh, the bathrooms are right across the lane, super convenient. There's also a parking slot to pull into. Easy drive to the Sand Dunes parking lot if it's too hot to take the trail, also located right by the restroom.

Absolutely wonderful campsite. Only problem was other people--someone coming late at night & leaving early (maybe pinching on an open site?) and another group turning on their RV generator very early (and I think they were in a tent-only site). Is it possible to have a ranger check at night?

We loved the trail you could walk down to get to the sand dunes from the camp ground

We stayed one night camping. It was great experience. #6 Loop 1 is just opposite the restroom. No smell and close to water. It is nice to have flush toilets drinking water and sink near the campsite.

The campground was super clean, shady (we were in loop 1, #6), the bathrooms were clean, heated and had indoor plumbing. BUT, the most amazing thing is the Sandune’s and the surrounding mountains. There’s no other place like it!

Park rangers is pulling people over and searching their car. Only to give them a speeding ticket. At the entrance, Ranger should inform people to stay on speed limit and follow the rules.

The shade on this site was great and my kids had a great time just playing at the campground.

The campground was well maintained and had easy access to the Sand Dunes. The bathrooms were clean and well lit too. If you can get a reservation, it is a great place to stay!
