Great spot. Really close to dunes, beautiful views. Very clean bathrooms. Deer walking thru campsite. Some good tree coverage around area.Some tips, the closest store is quite far and obviously campsite store is pricey but well stocked.Dont need 4wd or awd to get there easilyLoads of flies so prepare accordingly

Overall, we really enjoyed our campsite, the amenities, and park staff. Since this was the first time I had been tent camping in many years I was really looking forward to it.Thank you for having clean facilities and a clean park.

The nicest, cleanest, and most beautiful camp site Ive ever been to. I will absolutely be back, the proximity to the dunes, the cute shop and the overall surroundings were perfect.

Really nice campground with great views of the mountains and the sand dunes. This campground is usually busy, but there are nice clean bathrooms with running water and flush toilets. It's easy to hike directly from the campground into the dune field.

Very good campsite, pitches a mix of sun and shade (you need both). Useful storage lockers.

Love this campground. We visited late August, temp was 50s to 70s. Each campsite is clean, has a table, bear box and fire pit.The bathrooms had running water (though no soap), and toilets were clean. The Ranger rounds and checks everything is safe.They sell firewood in the afternoons. Close proximity to great Sand Dunes.

Nice visit. Campground sites very small so there was often chaos when rvs, big trucks, trailers could barely fit. Otherwise, quiet.

Campground is in such a great location to explore the dunes. There is a nice amount of trees and vegetation between campsites. We were only there one night this time, but everyone else at the campground was respectful of the quiet hours. Bathrooms were mostly clean, bugs get in overnight and get into the toilets. Would be nice if there was soap in the bathrooms. Great experience and will definitely return.

Our family loved camping at Piñon Flats. It was great to be able to camp and look out and see the dunes. Hiking over to the dunes from the site was great. The sites themselves are nice.
