Everything was prepared even before we arrived. We travelled with a 34 feet RV. The campgeound is very nicely placed in the pinion "forest". We had a very nice view to the great sand dunes. Restrooms were always clesn and well treated. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Nice campground with very clean bathrooms and perfect location in the park. The site was large and could fit two tents in addition to being an RV site (we tent camped) but no privacy without an RV in front. There was a small area of shade on one side that was welcome on a hot day. Three good sized steps up to the tent/picnic table area. Partial dune view that is blocked if there is an RV at the site across the road.

Loved the contrast between the Sand Dunes and the snow capped mountains. Great hikes. The campground is well maintained and has beautiful scenery,

We make a point to camp here every year. Its a challenge to get a reservation and you need to do it six months in advance. The campground is well taken care of. I like the new addition of trash containers in the campground.

Sites are very close to each other so there is little privacy to be had. However, the entire camp ground is well kept, the bathrooms were very clean the entire time and the camp hosts are very friendly.

Recently visited for one night. The campground was maintained and cared for well. Views and weather were amazing. The mosquitos and flies were unbearable. We were scheduled for a two night stay but elected to more onto another location. Next time we’d bring a bug net!

Beautiful site with lots of space to spread out. unfortunately the bathrooms were closed which we’re OK because we’re in a self-contained camper. Some of the sites do overlook at the dunes. Everything was clean and tidy and the Ranger came to greet us when we arrived. Highly recommended. You can walk to the dunes from the campground. There are also two hikes that leave from the campground as well.

Only complaint may be the lights at the restrooms are very bright at night when camping close to one. We understand the need for safety, but being a dark sky park another option there would be helpful. There needs to be a spikot to be able to screw on a hose attachment at water filling station. We had a heck of a time forcing water into our hose to fill our tank. I was soaked when we finally got our tank filled. But!! Loved our stay, facilities were outstanding, park personal at the top of they're game. Thank you for an awesome experience!!!!

The problem with the reservation system results in many unoccupied sites and an inability to fill those sites by last minute infill. the system needs to have better software that records last minute cancellations and allows campers at the site to move to those sites or pulls from a waiting list. That software is currently available. It is routinely used in the medical field and elsewhere. There is no excuse for the terrible current system's failure to make cancellation simple and to prevent waiting campers from filling those spots

My favorite Camp Site so far. Bathrooms are super clean. Location is perfect. You can walk from the camp site to the river and dunes. The rangers/staff were amazing. Can't wait to go back.

Nice campground. Impressed that park employees patrolled the area often. Hand dryers and soap dispensers in restrooms would have been nice, but understand that it is just one more thing for park employees to take care of.

This is the 2nd National Park campground we have stayed in and it was about the same as the other one - outdated - these parks were designed years and years ago and have not been updated in keeping up with the types of RVs that are used nowadays. Our site was backwards since they are on a one-way road - we had to have our doors facing out in the roadway and the spaces are way too small for most RVs - no hookups at all and many were not level; however it was nice for the location and the Sand Dune Overlook Trail leading out from the campground was awesome.
