Shady and quiet campsite with clean amenities

Beautiful campground within walking distance of the rim. Our site was across the drive from the bathrooms which was very convenient. Lots of space and greenery between sites. Loved the free table at the checkin building. We left some unused food. The only inconvenience were the laundry and shower hours. After a day of exploring it would be nice to take a shower.

Beautiful wooded campsite with lots of space to enjoy. We even had some elk wander through.

Elk. Elk right there. The campgrounds were clean and well maintained. The trees were beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. Its a good campground. If youre looking for glamping, then this is not the campground for you, but if you want a solid campground Mathers is lovely.

Easy check in, spacious camp spots, great access to the shuttle.

The campground itself was wonderful, easy to navigate loops, and the dump station was appreciated.However, our frustrations really came with the loop snot matching up with our RV trailer. Half of the pull outs put the awning and door opening into the road rather than the campsite. This was extremely frustrating and then some of the loops were so tight that it was difficult to get our 21 foot trailer turned into them.

It was very nice calm and uplifting experience with park services, lots of activities and sightseeing! Worth every penny!

Clean facilities, easy to find our campsite. Campsite was clean and ground was level. We had some elk walk through the campground as well, which was cool to watch!

Great campground, very well laid out. Very close to the grand canyon shuttle and the grocery store which was excellent! Our only issue was the shower situation. Only open from 7am-3:45pm and coin operated. Other than that great experience and would stay again!

Great pull-through site (#201) that fit our 23-foot RV well. We could see and hear our neighbors but felt we had sufficient enough space to enjoy our privacy at our campsite, and there was no issue with noise aside from a group of motorcycle campers to one side of us. A beautiful and peaceful stay with lots of elk, birds, chipmunks, clean bathrooms, and friendly, welcoming rangers. Wed love to stay here again.

Great campground with sites for all types of camping. Facilities were clean and equipped. Mather is also close to everything. Shower facilities were great to have. Definitely worth the $2.50. The general store was a nice surprise. It had everything and prices were mostly reasonable. Enjoyed the elk passing through. On our list to do again.

Great campground! Have stayed here many times. Cell coverage for AT&T much improved. The only reason I didnt give it five stars is the shower situation is disappointing. They contract the shower facility out to a private organization, and they close at 3:45 PM every day.

Campsites are awfully close together and close to the road, but they are otherwise perfectly nice and functional. Considering how popular the grand canyon is, I was happy to be able to spend the night so close to it for not a whole heck of a lot of money.

Great place to camp in the trees and pick up a shuttle.
@LindaS8448936 · Camped on Apr 5, 2025 at Campsite #37
The site was large and had everything we needed with the Camp Services. Conveniently located to the market Plaza and shuttle stops. Located right on the Greenway was an added bonus! We walked, hiked the rim and hammocked around the campsite when not playing games and cooking SMores. A terrific first camping trip for our grandson!

Campsite was a little rocky. The sink didnt work by the bathroom we were at. But other than that it was a well maintained campground.
@HollyV434AAE31 · Camped on Apr 5, 2025 at Campsite #161
Check in was super easy. The campsite was perfect and beautiful, but near a road so it did get a little noise at night. We really appreciated the free table and scored some fuel we needed for the trip and then were able to leave it again for someone else! We came in April so it did get down to 20 degrees at night. Would stay here again in warmer temps.

Great location, shaded, and quiet campground. Bathrooms are clean. There's a shower/laundry facility nearby with clean restrooms. Campground is 5 min drive to Mather Point and visitor center.
@StephenH630534 · Camped on Apr 4, 2025 at Campsite #4
Most sites are pull through so be aware that with bigger units and tree placement you may have trouble. We had site 4 and with our 24 unit we could not pull through we had to back in. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Campground is nicely wooded.
@KimM8115265 · Camped on Apr 4, 2025 at Campsite #120
We got the last of only 5 sites that fit an 30ft RV. Unfortunately, door of RV did not open to the site of table and fire pit (oneway pull-through).Restroom was heated, but very old and should be renovated.There is only one dumping station, means waiting times could be a bit longer. Portable water filling station was on the other side, so that we could not dump and fill up water at the same spot but would have had to turn around the RV first.

Beautiful and shady
@JonathanCBA9F8 · Camped on Apr 3, 2025 at Campsite #104
The camp site is nice. The neighbors respected the quiet hours so we were able to have a peaceful rest.We bought some firewood over at the Market.The fire wood came in handy as it got pretty cold at night .When we arrived it was snowing so we had to setup our tent right away. It was a cold night but we managed to sleep through it with our gear.The next morning it stopped snowing and we were able to check out the view points of the grand canyon.The campsite has clean bathrooms with flushing toilets.
@AndrewF8EEC581 · Camped on Apr 3, 2025 at Campsite #300
I wish I would have known beforehand that the main water for cooking and cleaning was turned off even in April, but it is a great campsite overall.

We track all the sites so you don't have to.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
