The actual parking spot is just a small side area to the road. I was shocked at the small width but in the end I was able to park my truck and 17' camper just fine. Door opens to the road so be careful! jThe actual camping area was amazing. A nice big open, level space with lot's of sun. Perfect if its cold or you need solar recharge.

What a beautiful camp ground. Stayed for 3 days at 2 different sites. Both were unique in their own ways and both were excellent. I would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

The campground is wonderful, and the staff is fantastic. However, the campground is badly overstaffed. When I arrived, non-paying people were squatting on the site I had reserved. At night time, when the office was closed, people were splitting wood and making fires, in spite of the fire ban. Others were doing dishes in the bathroom sink. Please pay more rangers!

National Parks might not be the best choice around holidays.

The shuttles were conveniently close, bathrooms were well maintained. I will say even when we went in Nov.. the shuttles did get full even then. And the village area with main gift shop was horrible. Absolutely horrible. I will never go to that part again. Parking and safety where you could try and park was non existent. But thankfully there are gift stores with a better selection of unique in other areas

Nice campground. Clean and easy to navigate. Not enough bathrooms within walking distance. Can get a little tight if it gets full. Roads withing the campground are a bit narrow. It was great seeing deer walking by every M morning. It has easy access to the rim. Great bike trails.

Cant beat the location, large sites, easy check-in and clean bathrooms.

Nothing to add about the campsite but they need to put a better placed stop sign once a vehicle leaves the reservation/check-in area. I had to stand in front of an RV that did not see a stop sign located way to the right of where they were exiting the check-in area. Another RV was traveling up the campground road and there may have been an accident if I had not paused the 1st RV. I've always thought the stop sign was not well placed.

Just the perfect spot if you want to see all the stars and no light pollution what so ever!

We camped at Mather for two nights before Thanksgiving, knowing ahead of time that it would be very cold, and that we couldn't start any fires and had to bring in our own water (due to a water main break). Site 136 was nice and flat, with only a few rocks in the tent areas. Our loop was only a quarter full, and it was nice to have our own section to ourselves. HOWEVER, site 136 sits near the main road in and out of the park, and there are rumble strips that you can hear at all hours of the night, which significantly increased the night-time noise. On our last night, we had some very rude fellow campers arrive after quiet hours, shine their headlights onto our tent for at least 10 minutes, and slam their car doors continually while they set up their site. They were gone before quiet hours ended, leaving almost as loudly. While we had no control over our neighbors, we could have looked more closely at the location of our campsite to the main road. Overall, the campsite was nice and had great shade. Bathrooms were clean. Check-in was easy and staff was friendly. It was a great campground. I just wish the rumble strips weren't so close to our campsite!

There weren't many campers at this time of the year. The bathroom was always clean. Campground was always quiet.

It is great to visit this campground even in rainy , cold then snowy weather tent camping on the South Rim. No bears ! Just deer . Never used the car , just hiked and caught the shuttles buses and met lots of people . Perfect break from civilization!

Overall, clean and quiet campground. If staying during colder months verify that showers are operational if you are anticipating wanting a shower.

Having the water shut off was inconvenient, but the restrooms were working and clean and cared for. The campground is convenient and well-maintained.

Super well-maintained campground! Well spaced sites. If it werent for the water and fire restrictions when we were there, it wouldve been even better! Thanks again to the Rangers, who are staffing the campground during the shutdown!

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
