Truly enjoyed my time at this campground. I've stayed here multiple times and it is always enjoyable. The grounds are clean and maintained. The sites are relatively private, and the restrooms are also clean. I love the proximity to the the shuttle bus. You can easily walk to catch the shuttle into the village and then transfer if necessary to other buses. I usually catch the shuttle to the village where you can access the Bright Angle trail. The market is also within walking distance.

This campsite was nice and roomy. There werent a lot of people in the campground, so no one was close to me. At a busier time, there would be no privacy. This site provides a great view of the stars, which were amazing. The campground is huge, but finding my way around was easy. The campground is located near the village (walkable) and you can get shuttles from the village to go up and down the South Rim.

Nice campground in the trees. Great ranger at check in, very helpful and nice. Grateful for the park being open during the shutdown. Thanks to the park system for all their work, we are extremely appreciative.

We visited during the .gov shutdown, but everything was clean and well taken care of. While the vegetation was sparse, the camp spots were far enough away from each other to provide a little privacy. We only stayed a night, but plan to return and enjoy this wonderful campground.

It is a convenient and well-maintained facility for anyone who wants to experience a night or two of camping in Grand Canyon. The camper ground is large and shady. While it does not offer direct canyon views, it provides easy access to shuttle stops and is within walking distance of Market Plaza, a general store, and the Visitor Center. It is also common for campers to see elk, deer, and other wildlife wandering through the campground, which adds to the experience, though for us, it's kinda sweet yet bitter memory...since we rushed into the sunrise viewing, not secured our food well, we spent quite a time to clean up the mess when we got back :)

Beautiful Campground, good shuttle connection. Saw Elks right from our RV!

We had a group of 33 we had plenty of space however our campsite was right no top of the other campsite. There was access to 2 bathrooms on different ends of the campsite. All in all it was a great campsite but next time I would probably aim for one of the other ones to avoid being so close to the other campsite.

To take the shuttle, try to get close to the north so the walk isn't so far if you have kids and note that there is a way to walk some to 'reverse' directions on the shuttle so you don't have to make the whole loop. The sites are really nice. They're not super private but are large and have nice terrain. Bathrooms are flush and have a sink for washing dishes and are close to sites. I guess NPs just don't usually have showers or you have to go to a main location and pay for them. There were lots of sites available in October so really nice to be able to have a flexible schedule.

I camp a lot. Over 30 days in the past two months. I go to the Grand Canyon because of the camping

Everything was fine except the dump station.Dump station really needs maintenance and an upgrade.For a campground this size, two dump stations would be a great idea

One of the nicest national park campgrounds weve stayed at. Spacious campsites, wildlife roaming the grounds, hot showers, clean restrooms, exceptional laundry. The lack of hookups is a small consolation for those seeking the rustic environment. The availability of a general store for groceries, shuttle service to all the key points in the Canyon make this the ideal campground to stay at.

I found using the Recreation.gov website extremely frustrating - not user friendly. And this is based over a number of bookings I made. Mather Campground was a great campground to stay in yet we had a lot of difficulty booking two consecutive nights in October. In fact, we only had one site to select from so we booked it. Once we received the confirmation email, it turned out we had a site that had our trailer door opening on the road side, not the campsite side but we kept the reso as it was the only site we could book. You could imagine our frustration when we arrive to find 90% of the campground was empty. I understand they are operating at a reduced capacity for the time of year, however, surely there must be a better way to book and allow us more than one site as a two night option when there are dozens of open spots.

Great stop for camping, would go back again, but I wish I looked closer to find a spot in the same campground without RVs or the space for an RV to park next to you (too much noise).

My favorite campground. Love to walk the trails and along the rim or hike down into the canyon. Fairly private sites and it is fun to see the elk walk through. Having the grocery store nearby is helpful. Wish the showers and laundry had been open all week. That was hard. Also, if you have an rv, be sure your propane tanks is full for cold nights because the closest place to refill is 23 miles south at an rv park.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
