I camped in January, so it was not too crowded and it was very quiet. Bring a snow shovel and watch for ice at your camp spot. My space wasn't plowed. The bathrooms were clean and warm. The water hydrants outside were turned off, so bring water. They have showers just to the right of the camp ground entrance at the camper services building that were clean as well as a laundry room. The Rangers were helpful with my questions. Being January, it was cold and windy. Overall a wonderful 4 day trip to the GC.

Overall, the surfaces are good for RV's but you will need to study the site map as many of the campsites are close together.

Great campground! Very clean and well kept. Sites were spacious, wooded and felt very private. No hook ups so if you are ok with this highly recommended. The only dislike was that RVs are not allowed to park in the shower/laundry parking lot area which was very inconvenient in our situation.

Lots of snow had fallen, approx 1.5 feet. Another 6 inches fell during our visit. No clearing snow of campsites. Great job of cleaning main roads within the park. Great that the shuttle was still running

We came after a couple weeks of heavy snow and were surprised to find that only a few of the spaces in the Pine Loop were actually able to be pulled into. It might be asking too much, but definitely would have appreciated more plowing of sites. That said, the warm bathrooms and water in the restrooms was great. The overall experience during our visit was definitely two thumbs up.

Saw our first elk of the season! The snow was deep and splendid. Friendly check-in. Loved our brief stay.

My girlfriend and I only spent one night at the campground. We did a quick shakedown trip with our new RoG camping trailer. Its a little bigger than a teardrop. We had a great time even if it was 11 degrees at six in the morning. Great trails to the canyon. Nice quiet. Nice having a place where 10 pm til 6 am is quiet time. No generators. $18 a night, $9 with a Senior Lifetime Pass. Well worth the $80. It has already paid for itself.

Nice campground but there was glass all over the campsite. It looked like someone had dropped 2-3 glass bottles.

Great campsites, super close to the South Kaibab Trail and Visitor Center, super flat, and private. The facilities were also nearby and very clean.

Mather campgrounds was well maintained and well staffed. The check in process was easy and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. The bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. I was disappointed by how much trash was around the two campsites I stayed at, both times I spent quite a while picking up trash. The absolute worst part was the trash pick up truck that woke us up BOTH MORNINGS AT 5AM. They say quiet hours are from 10pm until 6am however they clearly don’t follow guidelines themselves. I cannot fathom why they could not wait one hour to start trash pick up but if you’re looking for a peaceful and quiet camping experience this is not it.

Excellent campground that was close to both the west side and the east side of the south rim. Campgrounds were kept up well, it was easy to check in, and we had a great time.

I love spending the first night at Mather before South Rim hikes or backpacking trips. Easy check-in, great location, well laid out.
