I stayed for 4 nights. Did Bright Angel trail hike. Due to the proximity of the campsite from all the famous locations of Grand Canyon South Rim area, it is the best location one can look for. they have a paid shower and laundry which is also an added advantage. Overall it is clean, safe and ideal for a campsite location.

Clean facilities, quiet, easy to walk to the canyon rim, sites not right on top of each other. Friendly ranger checked us in

We had bad luck with our neighbors, They apparently had something to celebrate, were noisy till after dark, and laughed when we (and others) asked to be less loud. When arriving at the campsite, there were parts of a tent still present, and a lot of small plastic garbage was under the pick nick table. The water tap nearby was leaking (streaming water). We reported it at the administration office (since there was a water conservation in place), but we felt it was not taken seriously. By the way: Birds (ravens) liked the water pool.

Great place to setup camp. Close to a bus stop so you don’t have to even drive.

I was disappointed. The campsites are crowded together. There was loud music and shouting until 10 pm. I camp so I can hike and noise and lights until 10 pm is not acceptable. I had 7 nights reserved but only used 4. I will not stay at Mather Campground again,

Beautiful campground. Was greeted by one of the elk residents on arrival. She moved along once she saw I was getting settled in. Campground is walking distance to Mather visitors center. A little longer to village. Plenty of shuttles to take you around. Sunsets and sunrises from the rim are a wonder—

The bathrooms were clean, the potable water was easy to get to. Our campsite was a good size that did not give us the feeling of neighbors right on top of us.
