Clean, quiet campground 20 minutes from downtown Asheville. Friendly staff and hosts. Clean bathrooms, plenty of hot water for the shower. Cell service a little sketchy but made do with cell phone booster. Minutes from NC Arboretum and Blue Ridge Parkway. Easy access to some nearby hiking trails and a small lake. Spacious sites with plenty of shade trees. We will be back!

Amazing campground! The staff was super helpful and the campground itself is beautiful! It has a ton of trails inside the campground and multiple trails just outside of it as well. Will definitely be coming back in the future!

Beautiful park with excellent staff. My only suggestion is that it would be nice if they would allow canoes and kayaks on the lake. This is our 3rd stay at Lake Powhatan CG and the trailheads leading to the CG have small parking areas which are always filled. Be on the lookout for the many bikers and hikers who park along the shoulders of the road.

A beautiful park with full hook up RV sites. Very close proximity to the NC Arboretum (right next door)! Bathrooms & showers are well-maintained. Hiking/biking trails are very good. My only complaint is that kayaks are not allowed on the lake.

This is an amazing little park. You think you're driving almost through the middle of Asheville, you turn on a little 2 lane road, drive a couple of miles, and suddenly, you're deep in the heart of the forest. Every site is wooded with plenty of space, the bathhouses are clean, hiking trails everywhere, a little lake for fishing, swimming or boating. Drive 10 minutes at most and you've got great restaurants, places to shop; anything you'd want to do in the city. It's a fantastic place to camp!

Everyone at the front gate was so friendly. They helped with directions to trails and making last minute reservations when I wanted to stay longer. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. And the sites were very level and clean as well. I will definitely be coming back.

We rented the double site for tents and it was HUGE. Plenty of space for mine and my friends 2 family size tents and 5 vehicles and we had lots of space leftover! Staff is very friendly and the clean, heated bathrooms/showers were a blessing in the cold November weather. I love that the camp sites are spaced out well so privacy is surprisingly good. There are hiking trails within less than a 2 minute drive, hard times trail being one of them and a hiking path around the lake. Everything was simple and easy to navigate including trash disposal, bear lockers, bathrooms, rules etc. 100% recommend coming here for a relaxing camping trip!

Unfortunately, it was only a stop over, 1 night, on my way back to Illinois. However, this was my 3rd time camping there and wouldn't camp anywhere else in the area. From the gate attendant to the maintenance people, everyone, was exceptional and friendly. Even better are the wooded campsitesso beautiful! Every site had privacy and surrounded by forest. To sum up in one wordlovely.

This is a great hidden gem in Western NC!! We made reservations because it was a convenient 1.5 hour drive for us. Campsites are great, bathrooms are clean, staff is super friendly. We will be back!!

I was very disappointed camping there I stayed there two nights the first night when I took a shower and by the way I was in site number 51 I only had lukewarm water the second night that day I had spent the whole day at the Biltmore and when I got back at 9:00 someone was camping in my site I asked him do you know this is my site he said they told me that no one was camping here I said who told you the girl at the gate I said well where's your ticket for your windshield oh they didn't give me one so I knew he was full of s*** at that point so I said you better stop what you're doing and just hold up and see if I can get another site I went to a host the host called the manager and the manager came and gave me another site which took about 45 minutes and I was a little disappointed that they didn't go over and say something to the guy who was basically squatting the campsite which I paid for but they did not so the second night camping there in a different site I use the shower that next morning because I was leaving and again very lukewarm water the problem that someone took my site was they don't lock the gate they leave the gate wide open so when they leave at 8:00 someone can come in just like what that guy did and just steal someone's sight if you're not there I suggest you people get your s*** together and lock that gate so this doesn't happen again and give a gate code number to the people that paid for the site. I will never camp there again very poorly managed.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
