Very close to Ashville and we used the park for an overnight before turning in our camper van amd flying out of Charlotte. Hot and clean showers. Sites had leaves blown out and picnic tables. Lots of trees for privacy and good waste disposal due to bears. Campground was full but things were very quiet. The front booth was staffed with a very kind and helpful man.

Host was really nice! Space was well maintained, showers were nice! Family friendly campground with awesome people. They also have wood onsite that you can buy for $10!

Nice campsites - good tree cover and privacy between sites. All the guests were respectful. The only significant issue was plugged toilets and toilet doors that would not lock, making privacy a big issue.

Beautiful campgound, tons of hikes and mountain bike trails nearby. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lake not much of a factor. Would definitely go back!

Weve camped here for years in the Hardtimes Loop. We may have been lucky enough in years past to have only shared the loop with tents and campers that were plugged in. This year the loop was filled out with small campers w/ generators that really provided a lot of noise pollution.

Nice campground. Clean facilities.

Nicely wooded, cute small lake with beach and small fishing pier. Very quiet and sites have good separation and privacy. Some sites are 2 levels so make sure it will work for your needs before booking. Bath house is small and limited, but clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Bears in the area while we were there, but did not see any. We had zero cell coverage with ATT. Site 52.

Great spot at #15, if you're willing to dry camp. Easy to get into, water spigot nearby. Great access to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Love being in the woods yet so close to so much in the great Asheville area. Roomy comfortable site with FHUs. Nice! A bit too expensive given it is a public campground.

I love lake Powhatan! It is beautiful and well kept. There are mountain biking trails that you can access directly from the campground. I like the proximity to Asheville. Close enough for easy access, but far enough that you feel fully immersed in the outdoors. The staff that I interacted with were all exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Had an amazing time at Lake Powhatan campground during our 5 night stay. Lakeside Loop is well forested, with great borders between sites, leading to a quiet, rejuvenating experience. The trail to the lake makes enjoying sunshine and nature there easy. The close access to Bent Creek, the NC Arboretum and all of Asheville allows for a rich and diverse choice of activities! We live in Waynesville nearby but well come back often. Its a real treasure.

We used Lake Powhatan Big John loop as a one night stop over on our way to camping in far southwestern NC. Sites are fairly level, easy to access for our small trailer and convenient for our travels. We love to walk to the Lake and enjoy the quiet forest.

Beautiful siteslots of space and privacy between sites. It feels like you are deep in the forest while being so close to services. Great combination. Spotty cell service for ATT, but enough to check email, text, and phone.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
