Lake Powhatan Campground is located in the Pisgah Ranger District, National Forests in North Carolina (just 21 min southwest of Asheville, NC) with an elevation of 2,252 feet. There are a total of 79 campsites including 25 tent-only sites. The campground is open all year. 45 sites can accommodate RVs between 28 and 76 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 17 sites have electric and water hookups. 4 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $22.00 to $88.00. Some amenities include shower, dump station, swimming, flush toilets. Activities include biking, fishing, hiking trails.

Fire restrictions are currently in effect that prohibit all wood-burning fires. Charcoal and gas grills are permitted in designated areas for cooking purposes only and must be attended at all times.

It was a nice quiet campground. With absolutely Awful Showers and Bathroom facilities. It should not be that hard to get a decently clean shower with adequate water pressure and hot water.

I love the spacious campsites and the trails around the lake! One suggestion would be to update the bathrooms though - put faucets that you can control the temperature with.

Great campsite. Plenty of privacy and space between sites at 59. Staff was friendly. Average bathrooms and showers. Big bear boxes at sites to store food. Not a knock on the campsite, but I wish the website would let you know about burn bans. There was a state wide burn ban at the time , so I would suggest checking elsewhere to see for any alerts.

Lovely setting. Large campsites with bear lockers. Nice bath houses. Super convenient location near hiking trails, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Nice staff.

Busier than I expected. Not many sites available to choose from. The site we ended up with was nice. The showers and restrooms are well kept. The water could have been hotter but very grateful for the amenity. Welcoming and helpful staff. Nice work!

Had a fantastic camping experience at Lake Powhatan Campground. The sites were clean, well-spaced, and surrounded by beautiful forest, which made it feel peaceful and private. The lake was perfect for relaxing, and the trails nearby were great for hiking and exploring. Facilities were well maintained, and the best part was warm showers. Overall atmosphere was calm and family-friendly. Definitely a great spot to unwind and enjoy nature well be coming back again.

Only there one night but plane to return. Beautiful site and loved that it had electricity, water and sewer. Bathrooms a little outdated and worn (probably due to unfortunate federal budget cuts) but overall great.
