Nice campground with hiking, mountain biking and fishing right out the door!

Negatives:- Showers: Water temperature was between warm and lukewarm. Water pressure from top shower head was not up to par. - Toilet: one of the toilets was marked out-of-order due to faulty door lock. During our stay of seven nights the door was never fixed. campground should have replacement items (door levers) on-hand. Positives:+ Bathrooms were heated. Thank you.

Campground is well located to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Camp site is large with tree cover and has asphalt vehicle and RV parking area. Stayed in Site 36A in a 40-foot fifth wheel.

Great campground, enjoyed our stay

Very nice campsite in the Lakeside loop (36A). Very level with table, firepit and paved drive. Shaded but It had full hookups so solar didn't matter. Very convenient to Ashville and areas south. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Bath house was very clean and the shower was hot and had sufficient pressure. The lake was small but pretty and I saw fish being caught. There was firewood and ice available. Overall very nice stay. My only negative was that despite being close to Asheville my phone/cell signal was poor. I would return. One bit of advice the full .hookup sites bookup quickly

Loved our stay! All the staff were helpful and very nice! Loved how much space you have at each site. The price was very reasonable and you can't beat a full hook-up site. Would highly recommend.

I so love this PLACE! As much as I like being "disconnected", I would like the option to have been cellular/Internet service.

We love Lake Powhatan - it is the one spot we come back to multiple times a year.

This is a very clean campground! The staff is very friendly. It's nice and quiet. It would be nice if there was a privacy fence of some sort between the site and the dumpster (we were in 36A). Other than that it was awesome! We'll definitely be back again.

Nice campground in close proximity to Asheville. 1 night at a site with hookups, 2nd night a dry site. Both were good. Bathrooms/showers were very modern and clean. Nice pond with swimming beach and fishing pier. No cell service with our T-Moble phones.
We heard it is possible to hike to the NC Arboretum from the campground, although we didn't do the hike. We drove to the Arboretum on our way out of town. Cost was $30, but worth it. Beautiful grounds, gardens, and visitor center. Current art exhibit of Andrea Rich's woodcuts is great. Don't miss it.

Beautiful park with plenty of space.

Appeared not to be as clean as normal. Trash laying all outback of the dumpster. I know there was fewer camp hosts than usual and know it is because of the time of the year. (Early Fall).

Small campground , well maintained, real nice hosts, large sites, great park, hiking, lake, beach. Clean restrooms. Enjoyed our stay

Beautiful and extremely well-maintained campground. We loved how spaced out the campsites were and all the trees in between. We will definitely be back!

Just about a perfect campground. Large private and peaceful campsites, many with full hook-ups. Nice beach area.
@SusieB536 · Camped on May 8, 2021 at Campsite #36A
We arrived to our site and it was nice and big. The fire pit was full and look as if it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The grass around the site and the campground grounds were overgrown and I found a couple ticks on us. The manager Lynn that was riding on a golf cart selling wood came by and he smelled so much like alcohol. The bathrooms were immaculate!!

Lake Powhatan Campground is about 5miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway and easy to find! The sites are large and spaced out, giving each site privacy. The NC Arboretum is a fun place to visit and is off the Blue Ridge Parkway on the way to Lake Powhatan. The facilities are very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our camping experience at Lake Powhatan and plan to return.

We always enjoy camping at Lake Powhatan. On this trip, while riding on one of the bike trails we spotted four black bears.

Great Park! Mountain biking is great. Little to no cell service makes it even better to get away!
@grantc563 · Camped on Apr 5, 2021 at Campsite #36A
Great camping experience in our 28' Airstream TT. Full hook ups without any issues and spacious site to boot with a good level of privacy (Site 36A) - the only downside to our site was its proximity to the trash dumpster (surely they can find a better place for that one). Easy access to Asheville and great hiking, biking nearby. Loved the closeness to the NC Arboretum. Will definitely be back here again.

We love Lake Powhatan! It is always so clean. It is convenient to trails and if you don't want to get dirty, good paved roads for walking. Also, very close to take out food...if needed!
