Conveniently located near a town and still has the feeling of being remote. Not much traffic noise.

Beautiful siteslots of space and privacy between sites. It feels like you are deep in the forest while being so close to services. Great combination. Spotty cell service for ATT, but enough to check email, text, and phone.

Nothing to complain about. The restrooms are clean, the atmosphere excellent and the bike trails good. Need more sites with hookups.

Surprisingly nice campground given that it is so close to Asheville. Not as close to Asheville as the website claims, though. It's 20 min to downtown, not 10 min. Free firewood!

Campground was very quiet and nestled into the woods. Sites had plenty of privacy with foliage and trees providing barriers. Bath houses were clean and well kept. Staff were extremely friendly. The lake is very beautiful and plenty of trout being caught each morning by the experienced fisherman.

Nice facility, and staff. They were able to help me out when I messed up my reservation on a busy weekend!

Easily accessible campsites with just enough privacy. Very clean bath houses and personable staff. Great mountain bike trails, lake access, and mountain scenery. 10 minute drive to Asheville Outlet mall and Farmer's market.

Nice grassy area behind site for the dogs. Walking distance from the lake, beautiful dock with the changing leaves. Showers and bathrooms very clean!

Was on site 42 Lakeside loop. Site was nice with full hookup. Enjoyed hiking and biking. Encountered 5 bears while there, but they didn't bother with us. Toured Asheville 2 days which was only 20 minutes from campground. Cell signal was very spotty. Wesley branch road had some low hanging branch so be careful driving in if your RV is tall.

The campground is fantastic. Sites are nice, spread out, good access to the lake and trails. The facilities are clean and functional. Staff is helpful and friendly. The location is very convenient for popping in to Asheville, getting on the BRP, or tubing on the French Broad. Also adjacent to the arboretum.

We love this campground with large private wooded campsites. We also discovered the bike trail to the left of the pond takes you into the arboretum and you can tour it for free! We also enjoyed the Sierra Nevada Brewery, touring the Biltmore (do it with the audio guide!), and hiking waterfalls.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 stays at Lake Powhatan. The campsite was very well maintained and arranged. On our second stay there was perhaps 3 inches of snow on the ground but the road to the campsites and the paved campsite surfaces were completely cleared of snow. The weather limited our ability to explore the part but we would happily come back in warmer weather to do more. The park is also conveniently close to Asheville so it makes a great jumping off point for explorations in town.
