Had an awesome weekend at Mills River (yet again)! We reserved the group site, which was in pristine condition for us. Not long after we setup our tents and started on dinner, the campground hosts came by to greet us. While we were chatting, we realized we had forgotten a can opener. The hosts didn't hesitate to lend us one of their spares; they were unbelievably nice! During our visit, we ducked into town to have lunch at one of the nearby breweries, which was great! Each morning, a couple of us did some fly fishing next to our site and saw (but couldn't land) some big ones. As with the rest of the campground, shower and toilet facilities were well-kept. No run-ins with any critters (big or small). Looking forward to our next stay!

Lovely calm & relaxing campground. Site 019 is probably the most secluded as it is at the end of a dead end road but it is also furthest from the bath house. We definitely enjoyed our time !

Beautiful, quiet campground. Facilities were clean and the campground staff were friendly and helpful. The kids loved the easy access to the river. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back!

Site 25 was flat and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Because politicians refused to govern, the Federal shutdown closed paid campgrounds in National Forests. Pretty much says it all.

Best showers on the planet. Sites are nicely separated with plenty of vegetation.

This is a lovely campground that almost always has space midweek. The grounds and facilities are clean and well kept, staff is helpful and friendly. The older loop where we camped is showing its age but the sites themselves still offer privacy and dense shade. There is an older bathroom building in this loop but the showers and newer bathrooms are in the newer loop. No cell service at all so we drove up the road to Appalachian Mountain Brewery for libations and to check email and get online. Plenty of nearby hiking and biking although Yellow Gap Road is still closed from Helene so access to some trails requires a bit more drive time.

I stayed in the less populated area, and I enjoyed the peace and the trees. I liked that I could walk around the area without driving far and still enjoy nature in abundance. The camp hosts were friendly yet unobtrusive. The bathrooms and showers were reasonabley well maintained and clean.

Great campsites, and the river is awesome for swimming, playing, and fishing. Bathrooms are clean, and they have convenient access to firewood.

Have camped here multiple times over the past three years and every time has been excellent. The host(s) have always been excellent and do a great job keeping the facilities clean even with the occasional rude/loud/mildly inebriented guest. It is a family-friendly environment and overall the best campground in Pisgah.You won't get ATT or most other cell services here but isn't that kind of the point in the first place? Follow the protocol for using the bear lockers too, it's a good for you and the bears.

So close to town but you'll feel a million miles away! I was pleasantly surprised by this little gem. It has roomy sites, it's quiet, great access to picnic and river areas. Great for swimming, fishing, hiking and bike riding. You can't go wrong here. BUT....you need to be comfortable with zero cell service or internet. Drive a few minutes down the road if you need to connect. Clean bathrooms and showers. We saw a bear one morning. AWESOME!

Campsite was clean and gravel was even nicely raked upon our arrival. Clean bathrooms and showers. Courteous and friendly camp host. Campsite 19 is perfect if you need more than the 2 car max because it is at the end of a dead end road and there is additional space for parking without blocking anyones access. We paid a $5 upcharge for one additional car.

Loved the group site. Plenty of room for many tents. You feel like you are on a secluded site away from the rest of the campground.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
