This camp site had lots of space for my family of 5. We set up two tents on the tent pad, chairs, etc. and we were still had lots of room. The sites in this loop were VERY close together, so no privacy. It is directly across from the maintenance buildings. I noticed some noise, and there was frequent traffic in and out, but overall it was not bothersome. Easy access to the bathrooms, ranger station, and camp store. The bathrooms were clean. There was no hand soap available, which I found odd. Full sun late morning - mid day but there was some shade available. Overall a great experience. We plan to camp here again. Bonus: This site had spotty cell service. We were able to get text messages out, and many people came and stood near our site to make cellphone calls.

We arrived at night and found our campsite easily. We spoke to the helpful rangers at the station the next morning, and went horseback riding at the nearby stables. We also drove Cades Cove loop the next day, and enjoyed the variety of interesting buildings and wildlife on the loop. We saw two bears and a coyote.

Campground was very crowded. Most off the sites were still closed. I understand that there are seasons for this campground but I run into the same issue every year. They open up the rest of the sites late.The reason for the bad rating. 7:30 am multiple large earthmoving type trucks and dump trucks started rolling out with the loudest reverse buzzer you have ever heard. This was constant all morning.They need to hire a professional photographer to photograph all the sites. The picture made the site look completely level. IT WAS NOT

Location allowed us to drive loop am and pm to maximize our wildlife encounters. Loved this campground.

Perfectly located campground for riding bicycles and to the town of Townsend. Very clean bathrooms (no showers) and grounds. Sites were well spaced apart,

There are no showers at this location or any location within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The bathrooms have flush toilets but no heating and no hot water. The Cades Cove Tour Road is very crowded, but paved, so plan at least two hours to get through it (many people block the one lane road with their vehicles to view wildlife). If you go through with a motorcycle, plan on using your clutch alot. On Wednesdays, only bicycles can travel on the Tour Road.

Only a portion of the campground was open. It was full. I could not reserve two nights in a row. I never saw the office open. But as always a wonderful place to stay.

Exactly as described. Sites are close but people were polite and respectful.

The campground was nice, but the large number of very loud generators was very unfortunate (the other loop wasnt open at the time so generator use was allowed)

The communication from the rangers regarding burn bans and inclement weather coming in was appreciated due to no cell signal! The bathrooms were well kept and the campsite was plenty spacious for 2 adults, a toddler and a dog!

If you are arriving after office hours and need to reserve a campsite online, there is free wi-fi near the office. Follow the instructions posted on the wall outside the office.

We went in February for a quick one night trip. It was empty except we were right next to a rig with a generator due to low temps. I stopped by the ranger office to check in and they were super helpful in getting us switched up to a different site. Campground and bathrooms were super clean. And the stargazing was unmatched since trees were empty. I keep telling my kids I cant wait to get back to enjoy this place and explore more.

Nice campground, with a lot of history buildings to see. Saw some turkeys, and few deer. Woul probably see more wildlife at a different time of year. The self guided tour of the old cabins was the highlight of the trip. Will probably go again, but not for at least a year. Cell service is all but non-existent. If you need to let family know you made it, message them before entering the park.

Absolutely no cell service, but that is A-ok

Absolutely fantastic so peaceful quiet beautiful well spaced campsites
@WilliamS791593 · Camped on Jan 28, 2025 at Campsite #C46
The campground was empty which I thought was fantastic, until I realized that Cades cove was closed due to tree trimming. After finding this out it was too late to get a refund so I decided to just stay the night. There were no attendants at the campground office when I arrived nor when I left the next day. A ranger drove through the campground the evening of my stay but didnt stop or check my reservation.

We love visiting Cades Cove! We have driven the loop many times and camped a couple times now as well. Nothing but great things to say, the campground is very peaceful and always clean.
@ChaseM6793744 · Camped on Jan 17, 2025 at Campsite #C38
The campground was very nice. The campsites were clean and nice. I did not like that I had to pay for a parking pass on top of paying to camp

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
