Despite work crews doing some tree trimming and removal, the campground was peaceful and quiet. We love being there this time of year when there is no tree foliage, and the views are expansive. We almost had the campground to ourselves. This is a favorite place to stay, and we were happy to discover how much we like Winter camping there.

Cades Cove is a peaceful retreat nestled in the forests of the Smoky Mountains. The campsites have been improved with paved back-in spots that are practically level, which was delightful after a long drive. No need to fill up with water before making the trip. Fresh water is available at the campground (but not at your spot). There is no electricity to plug into, however generator areas are available to reserve. The bathroom facilities were clean and convenient.

Campground had not been mowed. There were interpretive programs as in the past. And many many many sites were reserved but not occupied.

We love Cades Cove but had never been in the fall. Our experience was incredible!

Lovely campground with well spaced sites. Bathroom was clean. Rangers were friendly and helpful and I look forward to exploring more of the trails around the area that they pointed out. I loved riding my bike on the loop road during the car free day - saw five bears, deer and turkey and no bear jam! I wish Congress would give the parks more money to upgrade older facilities. I have been camping here since the late 60s and I dearly love this park. Thank you to all of the rangers and NPS personnel, their work is service to our country and greatly appreciated.

Always a wonderful relaxing time in Cades Cove. Saw wildlife up close and enjoyed the scenic views. Ready to do it again!

We stayed in the generator prohibited area "C' and it was just what we were looking for - quiet campsites, nicely laid out with nicely graded tent pad. The picnic tables were nicer than I was expecting. Bathrooms were conveniently located. Best of all, we were close to the Cades Cove Loop for biking on Wednesday. Nicely maintained sites.

We had a wonderful stay at Cades Cove the last week of April. The campground spaces are nice sized with mature trees. We dry camped in a travel trailer. Each space also has a tent pad, fire ring, and picnic table. The bathroom was clean. Easy access to the loop drive and many trails. In two day we hiked 22 miles, 15.7 of which was a loop trail accessed from the Cades Cove picnic area that looped in a segment of the Appalachian Trail. Also fairly close to Townsend if you need anything or want to go out for a meal. And our camping neighbors were friendly. Spring in the Smokies was beautiful. Daily bear sitings on the loop drive and wild flowers of every variety, every where! We even spotted the elusive red, burrowing crawfish on a hike over in the Elkmont area. All around fabulous trip!

The Cades Cove campground was so convenient and it was nice that it was on a dead end area of the park. Fewer people that way. Clean and modern bathrooms (but no showers which we knew in advance). Wish they rangers kept better track of the outdoor sink- was plugged most of the time.

We went in the winter. It was very quiet. Many tent campers were there. We biked the loop 2x and it was beautiful. Would definitely stay again.

Nice campground with excellent store/concession. Not as nice a campground location as others in the park (e.g. Smokemont) but very nice still. We had bad weather moving in (50-70 mph winds) and a ranger came to each campsite warning us and asking us to move down to the concession parking lot for the night. We were leaving next morning so just left but the effort/concern of the rangers was appreciated. Ice cream at concession was great!

We stayed in site C45. Site was spacious and pretty level. Only issue we had to work around were the trees right up against the driveway. Luckily we were able to scoot back far enough to avoid the trees with the slide outs. We saw this issue with a lot of the sites there so if you have slides then be aware.

The weather wasn't ideal, but the campsite was great! Quiet, with the sites nicely spaced out. A lovely place to stay while at the Great Smokys. Note, to get any semblance of service on Verizon, you have to drive completely out of the park.

First time here, and it was great. Hardly anyone was here. It was cold. Everything was closed, but it was still nice. Roadwork kept us from the loop, but there was still plenty to see. Loved it!
