C39 had some trees for setting up a hammock. Close to the bathrooms and the store. Would stay at this site again.

Great campground in a beautiful part of the Great Smokey Mountains NP. We saw lots of bears, and enjoyed the scenery. Rangers and volunteers are very nice and helpful. The only complaint I have is that the dump station for the RV's needs updating, especially when it comes to making sure that potable and non-potable water sources are clearly identified. Over the years, the water towers that are used to flush the black water tanks (and that are typically using non-potable water) have fallen into disrepair. Some cannot be used, and another one is identified as providing potable water. This is a violation of common protocol, and very confusing. If all the water sources at the dump station are potable, then put up a sign saying so, until everything is fixed, again, according to protocol. I'm sure that money is an issue, which is a shame since this park is a jewel, and Congress should make sure it has adequate funding.

We were on the only “block” that didn’t have nice new driveways. That would have been nice to know when we reserved it. Other than that, we found the Wednesday bike loop to be terrific, with many black bears along the way. Took some great hikes and trips down to Townsend for golf, meals, laundry, and supplies.

There's only one bathroom for several streets of campers, and its always jam packed.. and there's no showers which makes camping for several days pretty unpleasant. The soap dispensers almost never have soap in them, and the bathrooms are just generally unkempt. The campground itself is nice but the biggest disappointment is the cars on Cades Cove Loop. This loop is one of the most beautiful attractions in all of Tennessee, and its only closed to cars on Wednesdays. When you drive through it, its just one giant boring traffic jam, and its terrible for the environment, and makes for a really lame experience. When we went on Wednesday to hike the loop, their was so much excitement, and people were enjoying the nature and their families. It was awesome, but again, whatever genius in charge decided to reserve only one day for hikers and bikers, when it should be the reverse, made a terrible and costly decision. Its such a shame. This could be one of the biggest attractions in the whole area, if this were the case, but someone making a lot of money decided it would be better for people to drive through and pollute the park, on a daily basis. I would literally come to this campground just for the loop if it were more accessible, but that's not the case.
First time to camp here in years, lol be this place.

Large sites with RV parking and a tent pad. The restrooms and sites were always clean. Great place to camp!

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
