This is my favorite campground. So peaceful. This site is great. Going through the cove early in the morning and late in the evening is the best time. Biking the cove is the perfect way to go through it also.

Bicycle Wednesday is the best thing NPS has tried in years ...More car free days !!!!Or start using shuttle buses. That don't stop and block traffic But better yet... more car free days !!!

We stayed at Cades Cove from 4/15/2024 to 4/18/2024. We ended up with a very bad site with everyone having a smog fire and sites that were jammed together. We talked to the check-in staton about changing and were told to get on line to change a site. Problem is there is no internet and when we went to the neighboring town of Townsend we waited 45 mins. for a returned call that never came. Our camping there was not a good experience and we will probably not go back.

The campsites are too close to each other and there is little to no vegetation between sites for privacy. When one is sensitive to smoke, as we are, and your four immediate neighbors, plus everyone else in the campground have a campfire, it very much detracts from trying to be in nature and to be healthy. It felt like we had been in a house fire. Some distance between camp sites perhaps would have made it bearable. Further, there are no showers in the campground, plus no showers in Townsend, and with no privacy between sites, it is difficult to even wash one's groin and armpits with water.

Our campsite was level and easy to access. There was little privacy, but the neighbors were quiet and friendly. Convenience to the Cades Cove Loop can't be beat!

Beautiful as always. Sadly, we so no rangers in our loop of the campground until the last of our seven days. We were in the no-generator loop but three campers in our area ran generators. Two of them ran them for several hours each day.

Nice campground. Pads for tents were clean of debris and level. Restrooms were also clean.

First campground was very tight and unlevel but the next night we moved and it was a new concrete pad and almost level facing the forest. Very nice. Not as nice as Smokmont but still a great place to head out the next morning and do the Cades Cove drive ahead of the rush.

We’ve been camping at CC since the 70s , this last time was the worst. We planned on staying a couple weeks. That quickly changed, we were putting out tent up and up rides a dirt bike with no baffles and was loud as could be. We were told twice on a written notice that we didn’t pay for the night before! As I paid in full when making our reservations. We didn’t see the notice on the camp site post until we got ready to go out hiking for the day. We stopped and seen a ranger and explained this notice. He said the ranger station won’t open until 9 or 10am? But that we needed to get it get in touch with them before 5pm. So, there went our plans for the day hiking on the other side of the park! Found out it was a volunteer that didn’t check her facts before posting a hot green notice on out pick neck table. The last two days before leaving early, three or four diesel pick ups came in after 11 pm going up and down the the roads by our camp site looking for their site. Making all kind of noise parking on the road right behind our site. The next couple mornings we tried sitting by our campfire having coffee and enjoying the silence. The one guy started his Ford 250 diesel and let it run for over an hour and the diesel fumes were blowing in our campsite making us sick. I told the ranger at the ranger station. When checking in, We had to sign a document stating we were in a no generator area! But it ok to run a Diesel engine for hours at 8am.
We left earlier than planned!
