Closed the nearest bathroom after our first night.! Way to crowded for one bathroom.

Our annual trip to Cades Cove Campground was wonderful this year! From the check-in process until we left our site on check out day, we had a great experience. The park rangers were very kind and helpful. The sites were ready for use and the bathrooms were clean. I'm thankful that the gov shutdown didn't ruin our trip.

Campground was clean with working bathrooms. The campsite felt very close to the neighboring sites and people had to walk through our site to access the bathrooms. Overall a very good experience minus the comments above.

$30 and they dont keep soap in the bathrooms.
Major Issues

It really makes no sense to me that the bathrooms do not provide soap or any way to dry you hands. I get that paper towels might increase litter, but hand dryers would make more sense than nothing.

Bathrooms need some work at the campsites and showers would be much appreciated in a well used national park.We miss the ranger talks at the campsites from years ago and naturalist led nature walks would be awesome.Wednesday closed to cars on the Cades Cove loop is a brilliant idea.

Cades Cove Campground is very pleasant. Unlike some other GSMNP campgrounds, it is in a more open and younger tree cover, giving you dappled light. In mid-August when we were there, the campground was less than 1/2 full which was wonderful. Of course biking the Loop Road-the main reason we went-was fun! Hosts were very attentive and we liked having ice cream at the end of our ride! Camp store is well-equipped.

The campground itself was great! The only "complaint" I had was that we were in the path of the restroom -- if we did not make it obvious that we did not want ppl coming through our campsite to go to the restroom.

Weather was Great and we saw lots of wildlife. I grew up in Knoxville and the GSMNP has been a big part of my life.

The specific site was level and roomy. Facilities were clean and convenient but the campsite has no showers. Kind of weird.

The campground at Cade's Cove is nice with lots of trees. Restroom facilities are very minimal with no conveniences like places to put or hang supplies. Also, there are campsites located ridiculously close to the restrooms on both sides. These should not be there! Uncomfortable for restroom users to pass SO close to others camping, and certainly uncomfortable for those unfortunate enough to be located there! If you ignore the restrooms, (also very smelly on men's side!) it is a pleasant place to stay. The driving loop of historic Cades Cove is interesting and a good semi-rainy day activity. The nature trail, right off the campground is very nice and not too much. Certainly interesting and varied sights/terrain, plants, etc.

It can't get much worse than trying to escape to the peacefulness of the mountains and then having nighttime road construction going on at the campground. Complete with heavy machinery drilling and beeping. The registration process is also terrible. You don't have to reserve in advance but if you show up and want to, you have to hunt down the wifi spot and deal with registering on your phone on their slow wifi. Zero in person customer service. It would be a great feature if the campsite descriptions were indicative of good hammocking sites. As hammocking has gained popularity, it'd be nice to be able to pick out spots that has trees within the site or privacy adjacent rather than sites that would require you to hammock on the line of another campers site. But with enough driving around I found a site with 2 good trees and there were toilets and running water, so my basic needs were met for the night.
Beautiful and clean, well maintained, lots of room between sites. Large number of sprinter-van camper folks, even in tent areas.

We had a pleasant camping stay. Quiet at nights. Suggestions for improvement: - have a coffee/breakfast truck from 6-9AM or open the camp store at 6AM. - have a food truck from 5-7PM. -Enforce the mask policy in the bathrooms

I had avoided Cades Cove for years because of the traffic. When it was the only place we could get a reservation for a camp site, we went for it. The camp site was awesome! We were near, but not too near, a bathroom. The rangers were really helpful. The camp store is very convenient - I was camping with my 6 year old, and it's nice to at least have amenities available if needed, and it was really nice to have a place to buy approved fire wood. The rangers wore masks and properly followed restrictions. Virtually no one in the camp store wore masks - it was super scary, especially being there with my kid, who was still too young to get vaccinated. I saw the most ridiculous mask, one which looked like it was made out of tent screen fabric, on a cashier. I wish they enforced the rules so we could all be safe.

It was great to stay overnight there on Wednesday to be able to go around the loop on bikes without the car traffic. It was also great to hike after dinner on Wednesday with very few people out around the loop.

Cades Cove is one of the best places to visit in the South. My family has been camping there for over 30 years and love every time we gat a chance to go. The park is well maintained and family friendly. Through the years, our children would literally tell us they would rather camp in Cades Cove for 3 days rather than stay at the beach in a condo for a week. They are all adults now but still visit the park regularly.

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
