Campground is great. One thing that could be improved is eliminating some of the poison ivy!! It was all around the post i was supposed to put the hang tag on, along the walking paths from the bathrooms to the sites etc. it would be great if this were sprayed.

Our group has been camping here for yearsalways loved it! Unfortunately, this year was not the same welcoming, friendly experience we have always had in the past. Beautiful place and love the bears

I use a CPAP machine and the 5 amp electrical availability at our campsite was key to a great stay. Usually I have to rely on my solar panel to recharge my battery - I don't have or want to use a generator and destroy the peaceful setting of a National Park. The use of solar can be problematic due to shady or cloudy conditions. I think all generator use should be banned in National Parks in favor of 5 AMP electrical!!

Best part was the handicap site, that we occupied, had a 5 amp 120 volt electrical service for the site. This was planned when I reserved the site do to the need for a Cpap machine. I have not seen this elsewhere in the National Park system. They really should verify that the occupant of the site has the need for the electricity. Worked great for my wife and I wish other National Park campgrounds would offer this. Big advantage when a Cpap is needed and known of the campsites have electricity.

We stayed in the generator-free loop and were very happy with the level pad and the nearby washroom with flush toilets, which was kept clean by park staff.

Come for the hiking and stay for the ice cream!
I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel, long bed pickup and parked in site #C31, a dry, BI site for $11/night with the America the Beautiful Senior discount. The roads were asphalt and the sites were mainly gravel with a few concrete pads. The roads were okay to navigate, but take your time when traveling on Laurel Creek Road as it has some tighter curves. My wheels were on the yellow lines multiple times. This site was hard to back into due to the angle off the road and the number of obstructions – rocks, posts, and a culvert. It took some back and forth to get it in the site and positioned well. I had to park the truck sideways to get it off the road. The picnic table was on the wrong side of the rig, but there was a large tent pad to the rear that I used as an outdoor sitting area. The site is very spacious. Since it was early in the year, the leaves were not all out which was good for getting sun on my solar panels. The bathroom was right across the road which was convenient. There was no hot water in the bathroom and there are no showers anywhere in the park. I would not recommend coming in here with a rig any larger than mine as I was pushing it. If I was to come back I would pick any of these sites in the C Loop: 21, 29, 30, 50, 59 (more open overhead – solar), 74 (angle off the road is difficult but there were no obstructions.) On the B Loop: 4, 20, or 33 would be my top picks. The dump station had three spots which was nice. I liked the campground and the camp store had the BEST soft serve ice cream! It was a great treat after hiking all day.

Not crowded and very quiet. We had a 40 ft 5th wheel and it was a bit tight backing into the slot, but it was manageable.

Beautiful part of the United States.

Clean facilities. Easy to reserve sites on line with recreation.gov. Great trails for hiking and biking. Had a great time relaxing with nature. The rangers were most professional and helpful.

Great place to camp and get away. The air is so clean and fresh, you can smell the evergreens, mountain laurel, see deer, squirrels, even bear right at your camp sites. It's even very nice to take a drive through the cove and see the beautiful mountains. We love this place we call home.

We had site C31 and the site was clean but everything was backwards! The picnic table and fire pit were on the backside of the camper and the power source for my medical machine was on the front side. Not a huge deal but somewhat inconvenient. Beware! The concrete pad is lined with poison ivy on the camper door side of the pad. All of that aside, the grounds were clean and the bathrooms were well maintained. The campgrounds were quiet at night. Do get ice cream at the camp store. It is amazing and be sure to bring your bicycle if you will be there on a Wednesday- the loop road is closed to cars and the bike ride was so peaceful and we did see a mana bear and 3 cubs.

The campground restroom could use (definitely so) updating. It was in sad shape. Have been in much better NPS campgrounds (including Smokemont. Also the fact of no showers anywhere in the park will influence future trips to the park

We had a great experience. We stayed in our RV so we did not experience the bathhouse facilities. I highly recommend the Wednesday car-free day to ride the loop road, 11 miles of several quite steep hills. No worry, many people walk their bikes up the hills. I also recommend the Anthony Creek trail at the end of the picnic area. It is really beautiful, especially after you cross the first bridge. Enjoy an ice cream at the campground store after your hike or bike ride.

We loved Cades loop and hiking the laurel falls! Although a relatively short hike you climb a lot in elevation. I don’t recommend young children or elder adults for that trek. Otherwise it is an adventurous path with outstanding views.

It was a nice site. It was handicap & the table & fire pit were on the back side of camper witch was inconvenient.
