The sites were well spaced, level, and wooded. The bathhouses and grounds were very clean despite their age. The campground overall was peaceful and quiet. The trails in the national forest were stunning. Would highly recommend this campground.

We arrived to find the previous campers were still in our reserved spot. The camp host was awesome about it and put us in a first come first serve site that was better then our reserved site so we were happy about that. The other campers actually stayed two additional nights at our reserved site which was something that has never happened to us in almost 10 years of camping. Not sure if they paid or just stayed two additional nights for free. I hope this is not a trend that we see in the future cause it is ridiculous and people need to have their camper towed away for it. Other than that everything was good at Cedat Point as usual.

We stayed at the campground from Charleston on our way to Nags Head. We spent 5 nights here. The marsh trail was beautiful but mosquitoes were plentiful. The showers were not very clean but functional. Only saw the host once outside their camper. No rangers were present. Sites are far apart and most are plenty long for big rigs. Potable water is available through out the campground and electricity was available at our site (4).

Lovely quiet campground close to the beach and a great marsh boardwalk

Nice campground close to the island. Plenty of shade. Feel for the host, she needs a 2nd host for it to be properly maintained, way to much for 1 person. Showers needs maintenance and more regular cleaning. Should have water at the sites.

My wife and I have camped there during the first week of May with some family and friends ( a group of about a dozen) for several years. We kayak and bike in the area, eat out for seafood and walk on the beach.The setting of the campground is great, spacious sites and peaceful. We love going there. Our biggest concern and complaint is the condition of the restroom/showers. They should be cleaned more thoroughly and some repairs and improvements are greatly needed. Please have someone spend a little time and money to make the building and facilities look better. I would take that much. ( two examples would be replacing the rusty screens on the shower doors and use a pressure washer and disinfectant every now and then)Thank you if something can be done. Take pride in have a better facility.

Campground is in a nice location near the river and beach, sites are large and spaced out for the most part. Lots of restaurants and groceries nearby.

Take time to go walk the trail down the way from the campground. Check out the nearby small communities. Beautiful area.

The sites are some of the largest we've ever stayed and very nice. Lots of birds present, including ospreys that flew over us at our campsite. I'd give it 5 stars except for the one negative of the showers - you can't control the temperature. The showers are sometimes cold, sometimes warm, and sometimes very (too) hot.

It was early in the season but all was quiet. I loved having shade trees in most sites. The shower/ toilet building was clean. I loved listening to the nocturnal birds. The occasional war bird fly over was an added bonus during the day.

Located near areas to explore, nice campsites, restrooms fairly well maintained.

What a great little campground! Very quiet and lots of shade. We never even made it to the beach, as we were enjoying the company of good friends around a campfire. We are local to the area, but friends always stay with their rv when passing thru. This year we decided to join them, along with a few other friends. Bath house clean. Till next year!

For the most part, the stay was fine. But, the showers didn't seem to get cleaned. I saw the same pile of hair in one shower for 3 days.

Clean, open, spacious campground with nice bathhouse, easy access to water and electricity. We tented and putting tents up off the grass in the dirt areas as requested was difficult. Be sure to bring a mallet. While the campground was very quiet, road sounds in the distance were significant, probably given the wind direction of when we were there.

Nice location. Close to amenities but far enough away to be peaceful. Power at each site. Water spigots close by. Spacious, private sites with lantern posts and fire pits.Nice hiking trails nearby.

I gave a bad review because there was only one shower working out of five showers. This was ridiculous. There were no signs on any of the showers as to what the reason were and you didnt know it until you got in the shower and turned it on that it was not working even the handicap shower wasnt working
@SharonW8755039 · Camped on Mar 8, 2025 at Campsite #18
There was only one shower working out of five showers. The handicap shower was not working either. There was nothing from the host as to why it wasnt working. Never really saw the house the whole time we were there.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
