When we arrived we asked the host if we could change sites to a First come First served site. We were told no. She said you had to reserve the site for 14 days. What?????? We had never heard of this before. During our three night stay, no one came in and reserved that site. There are not any rangers at this campground, only the hosts. We ended up staying at our original site. The sites are large and reasonably maintained. Bathrooms are clean. It is a basic campground.

The restrooms and showers are not well maintained. Pretty much all of the potable water faucets were broken. The campsites are clean.

Shower and bathroom are very clean and good. Good fishing place near camping ground.Although shade and trees are not enough, tent sites are wide and very clean.

Overall campground layout spacious and relaxing and great central location. Bath house clean though could use an update on the shower faucets.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds. Close to the cost but far enough away to avoid the madness of being right on the coast. The hosts were very friendly and the campground maintained in excellent condition.

The maintenance has definitely gone downhill since I stayed there a year ago (which puts this spot on par with most other campgrounds). Lots of dead leaves, pine needles, broken limbs. The price has increased substantially due to the new electrical fee and the reservation fee, but the online reservation system is so difficult to use it does not make this the great deal it once was. I incurred a reservation fee for almost every day as the system only allows booking of one site at a time. I had hoped to get one of the five FF sites, but the same rvs were parked there every day. If its a FF site, shouldnt each day be available to the first one waiting at checkout time? Instead campers are using the FF option to stay at the site without an advance reservation. It seems it would be more equitable to have all sites available for booking as FF doesnt actually mean one could show up and possibly stay without a reservation. Very disappointing.

Cedar Point Campground is a wonderful place to stay and enjoy Mother Nature's beauty. The campground itself is pretty and peaceful, with spacious camping sites set amid lovely trees. You can watch squirrels and birds frolicking in the daylight and you can hear owls calling to one another in the evening. Nearby is a boat ramp for the White Oak River and an incredibly well-constructed hiking trail with low bridges throughout the wetlands. The bathhouse is always clean, and the showers are warm! One reason that this campground is so lovely and well-kept is that Diana, one of the two hosts, keeps it mowed and manicured, just as you would care for your front lawn. Diana is also well-informed and helpful in so many ways. She helped me move from a site that I had only reserved for a few days to a longer-term site where I could stay for the entire allowable 14 days. She understand that I am new to the RV life and am learning by myself, so she offered me much wonderful advice, including to let my faucets drip just a little over the couple of nights that it got really cold. When she understood that I struggle with the mechanisms of pumping out the black and gray tanks, she told me about an elbow pipe device that I could purchase that would help me clean out my tanks. I bought this device after I left Cedar Point, and it has been a life changer! In addition, while I was at Cedar Point, I had a spill at the pumpout station, and although I thought I cleaned up after myself well, I did not, and Diana had to work extra hard to take care of the mess that I had made. She never told me this; I only found out that I had caused her extra work by accident, and then I profusely apologized. She was quite gracious. Diana is the kind of campground host that every site should have, and if I were a decision-maker, I'd give her a big raise and a giant Christmas bonus!

Beautiful property with lots of room between sites. We extended our trip by one day but we were forced to move sites as someone had booked our site the night before There were several campsites that were empty but we were told that we could not change without losing our money, that we could take an empty site but we would be charged for both campsites Several people were in the same predicament as each morning people were moving around

Nice campground. Only downside is the ammunition training at the base, feels like mini earthquake with large fireworks. We were there for the night training.

This was our first visit to Cedar Point Campground and it was a great experience. We were there for about a week and there was a lot to see around the campground and in other parts of Croatan National Forest. The campground was full or nearly so every night, but everyone was very considerate and respectful. We watched sunsets ever evening and they were all spectacular. Convenient to places to resupply as needed. Campground host was kind, thoughtful and I would have been comfortable to let her know if we needed anything
We will definitely return.
